I unfortunately had to lean over to stop him from running out the door as I was going in the door with some ice cream in a cup in my hand, which had of course melted just a lil bit. It got all over his poor little head and is now all stiff. I tried using a wet cloth but it seems to have made it worse. Any suggestions?

Yep ya got your work cut out for you. That's why I hate giving my cat a bath.

All that fur sticks to your tongue.

Aww. That's cute. I would say warm water and if needed, a little bit of animal shampoo (Johnson's baby shampoo also works).

My cat, before we adopted him from a friend, had to be washed on average of once a week between the lotion (scented even), maple syrup, and even blue Sharpie that he ended up with on his head/face courtesy of the previous owner's daughter. And that was just in the 6 weeks I lived with them! He's a very tolerant cat now and the soap didn't do him any harm.

Let him lick it off himself. If you try soap and he doesn't let you finish rinsing him, he'll lick whatever soap is left over and could get sick. Unless you have a bizarre cat that would let you give him a complete bath.

Ice cream's dairy anyway. Just think of it as a midnight snack for him.

If there are other cats around then no need to worry. If he is a single cat then let him have his own fun licking and stretching to clean hisself, It is in there nature and the workout will do him good!!

It's a bit dangerous, but you could give him a bath with some very mild soap. Make sure to wear long sleeves and a good thick pair of jeans or you could be torn to shreds.

Good luck

Well if I were over ther I'd lick it off for your cat. But I'm not. Maybe you should get a dog.

Peace.

Just a cloth and warm water. It will eventually all come off. Or if you have a dog..get them to help you!

Use some warm water. He'll eventually lick it all off though so don't worry. It'll come off and it won't harm him.

I accidently drop my cat's food (which is really moist and squishy and such) and it splatters all over her head every morning =]].

Your cat will clean herself tonight and tomorrow and all will be well.

Peace.
