I have health issues, which prevent me from exercizing, so when I was put on a scale when I was in the hospital about a year and a half ago and found out that I weighed 300 lbs I knew I had to do something to lose weight.

One thing I did was really cut back on the sugar. I use to drink a 6 pack or regular Pepsi a day. Whenever I had coffee I would put 4 or 5 teaspoons of sugar in it plus coffee creamer that contained sweatner. Then, there was also all the candy, ice cream, doughnuts, and other snacks. Plus, my portions were out of control too. When I ate, I ate until I was stuffed.

I'm down to 263 now, because I can't exercize like I need to. I go to the health club 3 times a week, where I walk around the indoor track 3 times now. Then, I do my upper body workout and then I go workout on the only machine that I can use for 15 minutes. Doing that has kept me out of the hospital, because before I started going to the health club and working out on a regular basis I was ending up in the hospital at least once a year; sometimes 2 a year. Trust me, you think it's no fun visiting there...try staying there for a while. Usually, when I go I have to spend anywhere from a week to ten days. A long time ago, I spent a little over 3 months straight in the hospital and in a private room.

Anyway, the other changes I made was to my diet. I really cut back on the sugar. I don't drink the Pepsi like I use to. Now, I only drink about 1 can a day and and it's Pepsi One. I eat very little candy, ice cream, and I can't remember when I had a doughnut last. I also don't snack between meals or after meals.

As far as my meals, my wife and I are trying to watch what we eat and how much we eat.

Jamie.... losing weight and becoming physically fit is more a mental issue than a chemical one. You don't need "diet" pills, odds are they can make matters worse. You can become dependant on them to keep the weight off, and most diet pills are not made for long-term use (in fact, long-term use can become hazardous to your health).

Losing weight is simple physics really, but there's another thing to consider. You're only 13 years old. Your body is at that critical point where you are changing physically, and hormonally. In doing so, your weight problem could get better, or worse.

But, to answer your question: You need a lifestyle change. You need to start eating right, and getting more exercise. The body is a simple machine... more work = more calories burned. If you are sedetary, your metabolism is slow, and fuel (food) is stored rather than burned. With this in mind.... eat 4-5 small meals, exercise at least 1 hour a day, incorporate more vegetables and lean meats.

Best of luck to you.

I realise how crappy weight problems can be. I was overweight at 13 myself. I went on an intake control diet 'cos I was too lazy to exercise much. Have a heavy breakfast, followed by a 50% of the portion for lunch and a 50% of lunch portion for dinner.
An early and measly dinner is the best way to losing weight. The first few days is tough, I remember dreaming of food. Once you get past the first week its so much simpler.
Also, when at a party, make sure you skip the finger foods and don't even venture near the desert counter. An attempt to taste will slip into a cupfull!
At 13, diet pills aren't the way to go.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Yea i comprehend! i replaced into a hundred and seventy as quickly as I had my 2d toddler and im an analogous height at you. i replaced into depressing so i will in basic terms think of the type you experience. First you be attentive to water is your maximum suitable buddy! leave the soda and the different sugar crammed beverages at the back of, they'll in basic terms slow you down! in case you pick something candy pass all organic with fruit, fruit juice and that i take advantage of Splenda whilst sugar is mandatory. you pick protein like grilled fowl. Lean meat is advantageous cooked the main concepts-blowing way. Tuna without the mayo, baked fish, salad yet no longer all the dressing (measuring)! stay faraway from undesirable carbs like white rice (fantastically fried) instead use brown rice. Skim milk instead of total. Veg's of path, uncooked is unquestionably good yet once you pick them prepare dinner attempt to stem them with gentle salt to none. you do no longer choose artwork out equipment to get greater healthful. Use the treadmil, do lunges, squats, dance, swimming is good, push ups, sit down united statesor lay on the floor with hands under your butt and slowly raise your legs and backpedal lower back (it incredibly is large for abs)! you will drop some pounds with time, motivation, workout a minimum of 5 days a week for a million hour an afternoon. Watch the energy attempt to stay around 1500 an afternoon. you will lose the load even nonetheless it incredibly is as much as you to do it!

hey its not that hard to really loose weight, I know it cause I have proven it, you dont need any crap at all, what you have to do is everytime you sit on the table just eat as little as you have to, this is what I mean, u are hungry, start eating but eat just enough to kill ur hunger for that moment even if you feel its too little food, that is the secret, you have to eat so that it'll get you to the next meal. By the time you get to the next meal you will be hungry again, you should eat when ur hungry not eat just because u can. forget about fast food restaurants try to eat as healthy as you can , I know its somewhat hard but if you really want to loose some you can do it. Also try not to eat anything that's not healthy after 6 pm. try to have your last meal before that time even if when ur in bed ur hungry, I know how that feels cause like I told you I felt it and I conquered it, after some days of going to bed hungry ur stomach wil get used to it and forget about it and you won't need any food when going to bed or before. also forget about sodas! good luck

Start excercising. If nothing else, try walking at least 30 minutes a day. It helps. I have tried and it really works. Being overweight is not a disease but it can invite a lot many diseases. So do not be depressed and start excercising.

Try doing activities that you find interesting... Like dancing or something like that... Do a diet.. And start controlling what you eat... Don't just eat at night(after 9:00P.M.).. It will KILL ya... After eating meals try doing some exercises (of course, you have to wait awhile because if you don't you'll throw up).....Don't eat too much rice or flour, drink water (more than juice),Eat fruits, vegetables(Even though they have bad reputation, try them first after judging the poor vegetables).... Don't eat food with that much quantity of oil....Even though you're young(I'm not saying I'm old,OK,but you're one year younger than me... For now....) eat responsibly....And have more confidence in yourself... Good luck!!!!^^
