on the envelope to deposit money into the atm, I thought I had 4 $20 bills but i only put in 3 instead..
so instead of $80 I actually only have $60..

what should i do? will i be fined for this? or do they just change the number to 60 themselves when they actually count the money in the envelope?

i entered $80 on the deposit machine, and wrote $80 on the envelope but only have $60 inside.

Woe is Allen,

You can bet your sweet bippy that they will credit the actual amount submitted.

The bank usually doesn't usually check amounts that small, so you might walk away $20 richer, but otherwise they'll probably just return the envelope or something.

The bank will correct it with the amount that's actually in the envelope and you'll get a correction notice.

They will adjust when the run the atm deposits tomorrow and you will notice a debit for 20 dollars in your account. Should anyting bounce, you will be charged. Most banks, other than BofA, will not charge you for the mishap, but if you do it again, some, incl. bofa will report you to checksystems for possible fraud.

Don't worry, the bank will make the correction without charging you anything.

most banks (at least, chase, bank of america, and compass) will not charge you extra, and your money will definitely be counted...so you won't be getting any extra cash from the mix up :-P
