God is creator of all, the giver of all life. He is absolute perfect love. He is patient, kind, forgiving, all knowing, all powerful, and everywhere at once. He is the best judge, perfect in all ways, and caring about our smallest need and desire. He is righteouss and holy, and wiser than anyone can understand. He is outside of time. He cares that we know about him, even those that mock him, he lets himself be known to him even through Yahoo Answers. He is true to his word, and Jesus is preparing a place for those that love him. He is ultimate love, and there is no fear in love. He has plans for us all, that we can not begin to imagine or conceive of. All that, and he cares about each and every one of us, and wishes we would seek him, and listen, and have a chance at what we were created for, with him. Great question..... :)

God is a spiritual essence, a consciousness of Love. Love is the umbrella of all human virtues be they peace, harmony, understanding, compassion and forgiveness. God is a consciousness that radiates all that is good in the Universe and all that is not explainable to humankind. All humans are emanations from the One Divine Spirit which is found in everything even that which we don't like or think is evil.

the weak construct of the limited human ability to understand everything. when you reach a point where you dont understand something, you can place the mystery on god. easy way out.
it is also a useful tool used by manipulative groups built on greed to conform the weak and insecure to support their riches...

but the truth is:
we are god, and it is both us, and not of us. it is another name for life. live it, and you worship god, deny it, and you deny yourself.

Dead, apparently.

This prodigious event is still on its way, still wandering; it has not yet reached the ears of men. Lightning and thunder require time, the light of the stars requires time, deeds, though done, still require time to be seen and heard. This deed is still more distant from them than the most distant stars—and yet they have done it themselves. - The Gay Science, sect. 125
