if they dont like it, of course return it..although some stores wont take toys back if they are open. Sometimes your kids just need time to get used to the toys.. My son got a toy train that makes alot of noise and moved on its own for his 1 year birthday... now, hes 23 months and he LOVES it.. but he was scared to death of it at one year old! And he likes his tumbling tigger some days... other days, it scares him... they will go through phases of what they like and dont like :)

Well what you do is return it for something that is the same price
and let her pick what she wants. But let her know that when mommy says no ,we don't have enough, then she has to pick some thing else and that she can't cry if she doesn't get her
way. And if you feel that she will act up at the store ,then show
her ahead of time. Look on the web site from the store that
you went too purchased the toy and take it from there. Then she doesn't have to go, all she has to do is pick right out of the web
site and then you go to the store and do the exchange. Easy as
one two, three. Thats what I would do for my 10 year old and
my 4 year old grand-daughter, the other one is only a year old.

If you really dont like the toy, or if you need the money, return it. Otherwise you could always put the toy up untill the children have forgotton it and then bring it back, out. But, yes, I would call it a legimate reason to return a toy.

I was returning something in a store today and heard the same exact story from the lady in front of me. She was returning this gigantic robot toy. The child was fine until the red eyes started blinking and making scary sounds while walking.
Ask your 2 yr old what he would like instead. Its amazing what answers they come out with. Cars and trucks with remote controls seem to be the least scary of all. and legos.

You should take it back, and get something they like if your child is literally scared of the toys. If the store won't take it back then you should store it somewhere until the child gets a little older and he's not scared anymore.

depends on the situation, find out why they are scared and try to show them some ways to have fun with them, but only if they want to. try some quiet toys on the 11 mon old and se how he does

Return it and allow your toddler to choose the toys she/he will appreciate. The giver will not be insulted this way
