I wrecked my first car and now my parents refuse to help me get another, (they tried to help at first but after awhile just quite.) i have been looking at one and i am eager to buy it but one of my parents has to call the bank to get the loan and call the insurance company for a quote and to add me to theirs. Is there anything i could do to help myself since they wont help me?

yes you can work, you can get a nice TOYOTA CAMRY for around 2000. that would last you for Five years or more if you take care of it, and then you can buy a car you like.

If you don't have any credit of your own, you are going to need a cosigner. You will just have to prove to your parents that you are responsible and are going to take the loan seriously...maybe ty saving up some money for a down payment will help show them. There is good reason they are wary; if you don't pay for it, they will have to. A cheaper car maybe??? And maybe start looking for a better job...eight bucks an hour really isn't much. Especially to pay for a car, insurance, and the rest of life once you move out.

I don't blame your parents for not helping you... I mean you had a car and wrecked it.. you shouldnt have taken advantage of having your first car since MOST teenagers dont have that privilege... I would suggest that you keep working your part time job and say goodbye to your social life and save save save... in no time you will have enough money to buy a used car.... I would seriously veer from buying a new car since you don't have enough experience to appreciate a new one... you can do it! =)

Obviously not enough to buy a car and pay for your insurance...

Your parents are helping you. Just not the way you want them to. You will need to get a job that you can walk or take transit to and save up for car. Having one is not a requirement of childhood or teenage years. It remains a luxury, even for us adults.

Get a job. I was in the same boat. You just have to work on your own and if they see how responsible you are then they might help you later. Yes, try to get Toyota they do last longer.

You should buy your second car. You're lucky they bought you one to begin with. When I was your age, I had to work to get my car...I also had to pay insurance. You need someone over 18 to get a loan...At least to co-sign with you.
