Okay, not trying to be gross...but let's face the facts; EVERYONE has boogers. I don't pick my nose and then examine them (like some tend to do while driving). But I did blow my nose recently and my snot was gray and inside my snot was something that resemble a short, dark gray string. What the heck was it? Oh by the way, it was in both nostrils.

HAHAHAHHA yeah but no they aren't gray they are the colour of a collection of dirt and fluff and just general **** that gets up the nose, most of it is snot and the hard bits are only hard because they dry up there, and snot is clear/green/gray so. ask your 'boogers' why they're gray, only they and jesus know

The grey is most likely just dust, nothing to worry about. And you're right everyone has boogers.

Boogers come in many colors, they are there to trap germs, dirt, dust.. et cetera from entering the lungs. The color depends on what you breathed in. Boogers are full of germs and diseases.

Maybe you inhaled a lot of dust and it sounds like the string thing was just a small piece of string.
