i hate telemarketers always wanting to sale direct tv or something on my fone it says toll free service so i know its a telemarketer so what is a good prank that wont cause me to get in trouble

The best way to get back these pukes, Is to actually act interested, keep them on the phone as long as possibe. Remember they are on a commision basis, so the longer you keep them on the phone on a no sale, the more they will be pissed that they have laost all that ime on potential cutomers. You ask questions, Stall them , ask if they can hang on a minute cause someone is at your door. When you have run out of ideas, Then just tell them, "You know what . I'm really not interested, thank you anyway" then hang up. Works very well!

Answer the phone and say Hello. Then put the receiver down on the table. After awhile, listens for dial tone. Then hang up. Before donotcall.gov, I virtually eliminated my telemarketer problem this way because telemarketers don't want to pay for a "wasted" call and so they zap your number from their database.

Ways to irritate a Telemarketer:

When they ask "How are you today?" Tell them! "I'm so glad you asked because no one these days seems to care, and I have all these problems; my arthritis is acting up, my eyelashes are sore, my dog just died..."

If they say they're John Doe from XYZ Company, ask them to spell their name. Then ask them to spell the company name. Then ask them where it is located. Continue asking them personal questions or questions about their company for as long as necessary.

Cry out in surprise, "Judy! Is that you? Oh my God! Judy, how have you been?" Hopefully, this will give Judy a few brief moments of pause as she tries to figure out where the hell she could know you from.

If MCI calls trying to get you to sign up for the Family and Friends plan, reply, in as SINISTER a voice as you can, "I don't have any friends... would you be my friend?"

If they want to loan you money, tell them you just filed for bankruptcy and you could sure use some money.

Tell the telemarketer you are busy at the moment and ask them if they will give you their HOME phone number so you can call them back. When the telemarketer explains that they cannot give out their HOME number, you say "I guess you don't want anyone bothering you at home, right?" The telemarketer will agree and you say, "Now you know how I feel!"

Insist that the caller is really your buddy Leon, playing a joke. "Come on Leon, cut it out! Seriously, Leon, how's ya been?"

Tell them to talk V-E-R-Y V-E-R-Y S-L-O-W-L-Y, because you want to write down EVERY WORD.

Try pretending you are a Police Sergeant investigating the murder of the man he's trying to call and find out what his connection is to the murdered man. Talk to the cops looking at the body while you talk with him and get aggressive to get all the info you can get from him as though he may be a suspect..........

I personally always liked to let them spend all that time telling about what they are saying, pretend I'm going to purchase, then say sorry, I'm not interested and hang up. They do drive me crazy, they don't take no for an answer.

Your phone...they called you. Don't threaten them and you should be fine.

I like to hand the phone to my 2 year old, I give them once chance for me to tell them I am not interested if they don't listen they get the 2 year old. That is funny I tell ya.

You catch my hubby on a good day he will pass the phone to everyone in the house and just keep going round and round till they hang up!

I always ask them to give me their number and say that I will call them when I get some time. Tell them that you dont want to discuss anything on a call you did not initiate.
