If anyone have seen this done, let me know. This cannot be done. Your lung is the control center for all breathing activities. There is no way you can be stable enough while your lung is being replaced. If a lung can be replaced, why do so many people die of lung cancer instead of just having it replaced. Think about it! How would you breathe, if they cut your lung out and replace it with another? If anyone have proof of this let me know. I need cold hard facts and your source! My son is a preemie with bronchopulmonary dysplaysia(BPD). That is when you have scarred lung tissue from being on ventillators too long. He will have to suffer with it all his life. You know why? BECAUSE THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS A LUNG TRANSPLANT! My grandpa had the cancerous part of his lungs removed and he's on permanent oxygen, but if it comes back, there's nothing the doctors can do! I am not saying that I am right no matter what, but Im saying this is highly unlikely!

Yes, but I don't know what the waiting list is for a lung transplant. They can also remove a lobe of a lung if needed and you'd still be able to breathe.
