You could try a silk/chiffon scarf or thick piece of ribbon tied round your head in bow, or move the bow/knot round to top of your neck like this http://fashiondiy.blogsome.com/images/hair01.jpg
Great as you can get them in loads of different colours and patterns. Can't go more girly than ribbon!

Try putting if over than under you hair and try the thin ones not the thick.

hi there,
i think i know what you mean,
okay start with brusing your hair back, then with pull a few bits forward and put the hair band on your head so theres still a few bits at the front.
or you could you wear like these

I wouldnt bother with a head band - especially as it sounds like you have a huge forehead -it will only make you look like frankenstein (keep clear of bolts in the neck as well)
