You see dogs have a sensitive yet superior ability to smell things we cannot imagine. A spray of perfume smells like a house full of fresh baked cookies. They just can't help it. Its not harmful at all unless they literally consume a large amount.

I knew a little black cocker spaniel who did the same thing. He was in Heaven if you put perfume on a towel on the floor for him to roll on! Very cute!

My dogs like manure or dead carcasses. You're lucky!

Dogs have about 25 times more smell receptors than humans do. These receptors occur in special sniffing cells deep in a dog's snout and are what allow a dog to "out-smell" humans. So I guess the your dog smells something you can't and likes it and i dont think theres anything unusual about it

My dog loves perfume and she rolls around on fabric softeners. Hey, she's pretty and wants to smell pretty too!

YES, It is common. It is thought that dogs may choose to roll to mask their scent, just as wolves do. My dogs do it all the time.

Wild animals will try to cover their natural scent by rolling in odors. Your dog is showing its wild roots. Be glad its not rolling in something dead.

dogs rely on scent/smell.

It seems to him/her that they are getting your - the dominant 'dog's' - scent by doing this, as well as marking themselves out for others to notice.

You're lucky. Most people complain that as soon as they've bathed their dog, or it's been in the sea/lake/river, it comes out, finds a cow-pat or other smelly thing and rolls in it!!

Which would you prefer?
