the past week it's been hovering around 132-138/80-85 and usually it was in the 120's/70's. Is this bad? The doc thinks I have kidney stones, but I worry a lot about kidney disease. I'm 26 yrs old. Thanks

Pain related to kidney stones could make your blood pressure go up and so could kidney disease. Why do you worry about it a lot? Are you diabetic? Instead of worrying about it you need to find out if you are at risk for it and then do what you need to do now to prevent it from progressing. If your diastolic blood pressure (the bottom number) is usually in the 70's and is now in the 80-85 range then yes it is reason for concern. Keep in mind though that sometimes people's blood pressure will go up just because they are at the doctor's office and are nervous. Try having it taken at a pharmacy in one of those free machines. They are usually pretty accurate unless you are very overweight or underweight. Try not to focus so much on "worrying" focus more on prevention. Eat right and exercise, limit your salt intake, drink plenty of water. If you do have kidney stones your doctor or nurse can tell you some things to avoid eating/drinking that can sometimes prevent more stones from developing. Some people though will get them for no reason at all. And there is no sense in worrying about that because worrying will not make it not happen.

You BP is not high, it is normal. Kidney stones can be dissolved using medicines. There's nothing to worry about there. My friend who was 27 got it last year. With 6 months of medication and drinking plenty of water, he was cleared of all kidney stones. Stop worrying, it is the worry that is causing your BP to increase.

Stones will raise the pressure because of the pain. At your age it should be 110-115 over 70/75 at rest.

You are still within normal limits of blood pressure, but it is high enough where you should make sure you are getting it checked regularly. Your BP could be increased because of your anxiety... and adding worry about your BP to the equation is probably making it worse.
