"Say what you mean and mean what you say, but don't say it mean".

“They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”

“As long as a word remains unspoken, you are its master; once you utter it, you are its slave.”

I like the quote, it makes sense in the reverse too.

The quote has a point except that the word "often" is incorrect in fact... Prople hurt more by speaking the inappropriate or hostile things than by keeping silence...

There is a quote in samskrit language that says "silence begets no conflict" (mounam kalaha naasthi)...

But one's sympathy is most for cases where the unspoken words had caused a hurt... in such moment of overflowing sympathy the person could have coined the quote!

Some of unspoken words I've not heard from someone special: I love you, I'm sorry, You are special to me, I have learned from you, Thank you for all you've done, I respect you...

That is true, sometimes we hesitate to say kind words because we are shy, to say I love you -because we don't feel like it; to say "I'm sorry" - because we are proud. And when we fail to say these simple but important words, people are hurt and their hearts broken. Ever heard of a child who never said "I love you" to his parents until it was too late? That is one very specific example.
