It could be SAD, which happens to a lot of people. Honestly, you won't find an answer that gets it exactly right. I'm sorry, I know that depression can be really rough, and can really twist how you look at the world. Make sure you have a good support network of friends, balance your activities well, and try to find something new that might bring some more joy. It takes time, but you can get back to happy- but it doesn't just happen.
Good luck, and if you can afford it, a humanistic clinical psychologist wouldn't be a bad idea...=/ hope this helps.

I'm sorry you are having such a hard time. I think you may have hit the nail on the head yourself in the first sentence ... "pressure". Crying, weight loss, and not being able to perform daily in your normal routine can all be signs of depression and/or anxiety.
You may be putting pressure on yourself to attain unrealistic goals and allowing yourself to feel guilty. However, all said, you should first have a good physical exam and discuss this with your doctor. Make sure the symptoms are not due to a physical problem.
Depression and anxiety are common problems faced by most of us, to some degree, at some point in our lives and you are not alone. On the average, 34 million Americans suffer from some degree of depression.
Depression does have very specific symptoms. But, they may vary from person to person. Symptoms must last for 2 weeks or more and include:
* A lasting sad mood and/or
* Loss of interest or pleasure in most activities
People with depression have many or all of these symptoms as well:
* Changes in appetite or weight
* Changes in sleep patterns
* Restlessness or decreased activity that others notice
* A loss of energy or a feeling of being tired all the time
* A hard time concentrating or making decisions
* Feelings of worthlessness or guilt
* Repeated thoughts of death or suicide
Please contact your doctor right away. I hope this helps.

It's called "Depression' dear!
But since we don't know what's going on in your life, it's hard to know why you are so depressed.
I run a few things by you and see if anything 'rings a bell'.
Have you lost a close friend or family memeber recently, even
the loss of a beloved pet can hurt deeply.
Is there something going on in school that has made you feel
uncomfortable, alienated, hurt Etc.
If things are troubling you to the point of crying every night, I don't think it's just the 'mom' issue between you two.
Something else is /has happened that has really brought you down.
Go to your school councellor, tell him/her what's going on be-
cause that's what they are there for.
I cannot tell you what would be the best thing to do right now, but
one thing I strongly suggest is, getting it out by talking to someone.

Is it your first year in college? You should talk to your doctor. Stress, can cause depression. You may not even know that you are depressed. I sleep walk when I am stressed. Some people blow up and some people cry. If you talk to your doctor maybe he/she can either prescribe you something to take the edge off, or give you suggestions about how to simplify your life a little. Good Luck.

It does sound like depression. If you can't think of any specific incident(s) that have put you into this frame of mind, then you may have clinical depression. That can be treated with talk therapy and/or antidepressants. Don't suffer needlessly. Go talk w/someone and try to work through it before you feel any worse than you do right now!!

You suffer from depression. Try seeing a counselor and talk openly. If there is somebody you trust, talk to them and get support. If you are religious, ask someone to pray with you. Something in your subconscious may be bothering you and you might not even know it.

Commonly known as depression, be it situational or clinical. Go see your doctor, they can send you wherever you need to go to get the help you may need. Meds and therapy can work wonders.
