There are two kinds of twins...identical..and non identical
Identical....one egg/one sperm...divides into two quite early on and you end up with two babies the same (like clones, same sex, same DNA) There is an average chance of this happening to anyone in any family
Non-identical....two eggs/two sperm...happens because the female is dropping more than one egg at time (two different babies, may be the same sex or not, have different DNA) This can run in families. I guess you can inherit the tendency to drop more eggs, and it increases the chances of more than one getting fertilized.
So if the type of twins in your family are non-identical...then yes...you do have a higher chance of having twins yourself

it is possible and genetically speaking you are more likely to have twins than someone who does not have a family history of twins. your possibility of having twins will increase if your partner also has a family history of twins. but just because you have the family history doesn't mean that you will have twins, you may only have single births.

you have a higher chance.. but it doesnt mean you WILL have twins.
My husband has three aunts on one side of the family.. the oldest aunt has two sets of girl twins, and then one boy.. the middle has an older boy, and then twin boy/girl set... and the youngest has two twin girls... and is pregnant with a boy. its luck of the draw I guess! I was scared I was having twins this time, but we had singles both time.. and nobody else in the family has had twins.

Yes it's possible, but I was under the impression that the tendency to have twins comes from the father's side of the family.

i m a triplet and if multiples run in the family then it increases your chance at having multiples...i already have had 2 sets of twins(not planned), and i am pregnant with quads(lucky me, alone and about to have a total of nine kids), but then i had xavier all by himself in betweeen the twins and quads on the way...it doesn't mean you are going tohave twins it just means you have an increased chance of having any multiples.

It's very possibly since these things are genetic. It's not 100% promised though.

it's always possible, and probably more possible in your case, genetically speaking.
