The story goes that Mary got pregnant with Jesus before she married Joseph. they were betrothed as an arranged marriage, both Mary and Joseph had angels visit them telling them what was happening. In that society, If Mary had not been a virgin by the time of her wedding she could have been stoned. But although she was pregnant, Joseph knew she was still a virgin and accepted her.

Mary was a virgin, betrothed to Joseph, when she was told she'd bear God's son, which is why it's called a virgin birth. When Joseph and her family found out she was pregnant, they thought she'd had sex with a man, until Joseph was visited by an angel who told him the whole God's son deal and Mary, which is when he decided to marry her after all. After Jesus was born, they then led a normal married life, which would include sex, at which point she'd no longer be a virgin. Think of it as a record period of time between the wedding and the consummation of the marriage. Mary is called Virgin, because that is what she was when she delivered Jesus, and to show her respect as the mother of the Savior.

Mary was not married to Joseph in the way we think of marrage... they had not "got togeather" yet... God chose her because she was faithful to Him... that means she kept God's law... so she was a virgin.... if God wants a virgin to give birth a virgin will give birth... Mary and Joseph went on to have several children togeather.
None of the evil things you bring up are from God...they are the result of man and the influence of evil on man. Just because someone says God"told" him to do it don't make it so...
The Salvation Message is still The Truth... and the Only Way to come to God is in The Way He prescribes. those become of The Body of The Church of which Jesus The Christ is The Head. These are the ones of The True Christian Faith. Only those of The Church will enter Heaaven.... just "believeing in God and Jesus is not The Way prescribed by God.... you do not need to be in some man invented"religion" or in a man invented doctrin controled "denomination"... But every one who seeks God and His Truth needs to come to God as He prescribes... you can not make up your own way to God.

Jesus would have been laughed out of town if he ever said his mother was a virgin. He never referred to himself as the Son of God. He is quoted many times as calling himself the Son of Man.
The Son of God thing came about when the first emperor of Rome, Caesar Augustus started calling himself the Son of God, to which the early Christians replied Jesus is the Son of God.

Oddly enough, virgin births are part of many pagan myths, from which the old testament "borrowed" most of its material. It doesn't surprise me that Mary would be used to make the new religion more plausible, by attributing a "virgin" birth to her. This is the way most pagan Gods came into the world, and Jesus wouldn't stand a chance of being accepted, if he came into being any other way.

Some ppl say that she married a really old guy who already had a family. Which is why he didn't live long enough to see Jesus enter the ministry. Remember, Mary was sworn into some strange society, sorta like a female nazarine, and wasn't supposed to have ANY kids. In fact, until the angel explained that no man would be involved, she wasn't having ANY of it.

Mary, Mother of God was a young devout girl who saw favor in God's eyes and was conceived by the Holy Spirit to bear Baby Jesus. Mary and Joseph both had been told this by God. Joseph married Mary so as not to disgrace her. Do not be discourged. Of course all the evil you speak of was not in God's plan. That is why he died for our sins. All he asks is that we trust and believe in the Trinity, (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as one.) That God gave his only Son to die for our sins and that we love our brother. Jesus came to earth as a man in every sense of the word. He felt pain the same as any man; had feelings for another woman as any man 9Mary Magdalene) and sinned as any man. In the Garden of Gethsemane He asked His Father to allow this cup to pass and not to forsake Him.(Slip of faith?)not sure. However He died on the cross and resurrected into heaven on the third day. During that time he visited Satan in hell (result of sin therefore dying for ours so ours can be forgiven) he fought satan, won and bound him in chains for 2000 years. THINK OF THIS...9/11/2001 Is satans evil stronger today than before? Anyone welcome to respond.

Matthew 1:18 says "This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit." He was conceived before they were married. Later in the chapter, it says, "But he (Joseph) had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus."
