Has any of you ever dated or had relations with someone simply because they felt sympathy for that person (aka you felt sorry for them)? How did you feel about them later?

I didn't say I didn't have feelings for the person, only that my actions were put in motion by being sympathetic to their cause.

Yes i did and that ended up terrible because he ended up having feelings for me and i sure as heck didn't feel the same about him. So i still feel bad for even going out with him in the first place because of sympathy.

I can't say that I have, but I really don't think this is a good reason to be in a relationship. It's not equal! It's not fair to the other person. They should be liked for who they are, not because you feel sorry for them.

i was in that situation not too long ago. i tried adapting to it, but it wudnt work. because i felt terrible for lying to him evryday. so one day, i told him that the relationship isnt working out. he was ok with it, but i felt so much better. u shudnt b dating someone out of sympathy. it only hurts both of u. u waist ur time on something u dont hav passion for, n u feel extremely guity. the other person, wen they find out sooner or later, will get hurt. knowing they waisted their time on someone that never had feelings for them.

In high school, I went to prom with two different guys that I would never date. They were geeky, to say the least. But, I felt bad saying no, b/c they put so much on the line asking me.

Yes, I went on a date with two different guys that I did not have any attraction towards and there was no connection, but I went out on one date (nothing happened) because I felt bad for turning them down because they were nice guys.

The first guy, him and I are friends now.

The second guy turned out to be a psycho/stalker! :/

OMG this is soo funny (well it is now)
I met a guy who was handicapped. after a few beers, EVERYONE is soo exciting. Of course jack daniels and I were soo amazed how he had 'recovered' and I was in awe of his spirit.
SO of course we did the deed. I sobered up to the very distinct smell of uriine.
he peed in the bed during the night
ugh
Well you dont have to guess how I felt about him afterward. I felt like Shyt (or piss ~ LOL~) but worse was trying to get 'out' of the 'relationship'/one night stand
