You would be a Foster Parent. It is wonderful for a child to have a place to call home. If you can provide a loving home and understand that the child may be unable to love you back right away, then by all means check into it. The county will check into whether or not you meet their criteria.

If you referring to foster care, you are prequalitied by the state you live , as a place that children can be taken to to be taken care of after the state agency as removed the child from its paternal home for a number of reasons, neglect, sexual abuse, ect. at that time the child/children become wards of the state and may or may not be returned to the parental home. That is up to a judge to decide. The length of time that a child might be in your home could be a little as over night or as long as a year or more depending upon the circumstances of it being removed from its home. The government provides monies for the upkeep of the children, but you are responsible for getting them into school/daycare and day to day needs of the children. It is a very important role and by no means should be taken lightly. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent you will need to get in touch with your local Departemt of Human Resources (sometimes called Department of Social Servises).

Its called foster care and you agree to take a child into your home. You can refuse difficult children or ill ones, but if you refuse, you may not get another chance. Its is good to do that if you are doing it for the child, its horrible if you are doing it for the money. Unfortunately some people do take foster children in just for the money and dont care about them. These kids have had a rough life and they need emotional stability and support, not another adult who is going to ignore them.

Foster care? But you have to be doing it for them. You might be able to specify an age group u feel more comfortable with, but I don't think you get to go and pick out a child (like I've seen in movies). Many of these children have been through tough times and foster parents are there to help them through it. Many of them go back home or to live with a relative and you have to be able to let go; it sounds hard, I've thought about it, but never done it.

It's called being a foster parent. But you go through a battery of paperwork and the children can be taken from you when they find a new home for them and you need to have proper grammar to help them with their home work so they don't say things like "Gots" or use the wrong tense of a word.

Your right...foster care.
There is a lot of work involved. You have to know you are right for it. You are getting emotionally damaged kids that need a lot of attention and love. You have to be strong and strict and loving all at the same time. If you haven't volunteered for a parks and recreations department or a youth group before, I would suggest doing that first to see if you would like to bring kids in to your life.
Each state has their own Foster Care system. Look it up in google for your location to find out what type of requirements are needed. Most of the time you have to go through classes or qualify via education...ect... See below link...
