Can anyone reccomend a basinett brand/ style? I was thinking of getting a round one. My son had a vibrating graco 2 years ago and did not seem to like it to much...Any suggestions?

my daughter had a bassinet for the first 3 months. and the reason why i liked it, was because it had wheels and no matter where i was going in the house i could take her along with me. it was perfect. she stayed in it at night, right next to the bed, which made it easy while i breastfed. i didn't get one that vibrated because i didn't want her to get used to it, and then not sleep in the crib when the time came. also, we just got the cheapest one they had at the BX. it was the same as all the others.

My family uses the same basinett my grandmother used on my mother, aunt, and uncle... it has a new basinet pad of course, and my mom sewed a new cover for it when I had my first child... but neither of my kids liked to sleep in the basinett. To tell you the truth, both of them slept with my husband and I the first 3 months.. and then crib. At 3 months, when we put them in their cribs, they both slept at least 8 hours a night. I know there are people who are on both sides of the fence as far as sleeping with the baby goes.. but it made things alot easier on me, because I was breastfeeding.. and I was waking up every 2-3 hours with them anyway. We had a king bed.. my husband and I slept on either side, and kept the kids in the middle. We always made sure there were no extra pillows or blankets on the bed, and kept her in the crook of my arm so that she could not roll away from me or roll onto her face. Our pediatrician had no problem with this.. and it worked wonderfully for us

You get the most affordable one because the baby will not sleep in the basinett very long! The affordable brands are no different than the name brands. My children would not sleep in a basinett..they liked sleeping in their car seats! So do not go too expensive...try Walmart, Cosco, Target....they have competitive pricing!!!

If you still have the Graco, try it with the new baby! She might love it, even though your baby boy didn't.
We had a portable one for our daughter and placed it wherever we were and she was sleeping: living room, bedroom, etc...easy to move as it had little wheels and was light, but sturdy! It came from walmart...I think it was actually a Graco one!
However, if you'd rather have her right into a crib, they make ones that you can have easy access to for breastfeeding or changing, etc, because the side comes down and tucks under the mattress...very handy but not sure about the cost of these.

I used a carry cot...much smaller than a bassinet. I wrapped my little girl tightly in a receiving blanket (arms inside), she felt snug as a bug and laid her down on her side with a rolled up receiving blanket in the front and back so she wouldn't roll over. Baby's like to be wrapped up and they feel more secure. The carry cot is much smaller than a bassinet or camping cot and if you wanted to and you have a big enough bed (and your husband doesn't mind) you could put her down for the night between the two of you. She'll "smell" you and probably end up sleeping through the night a lot faster. And if you have to feed, she's right there, you could do it in your sleep. I did this with all 3 my kids. They were all sleeping throught the night by 6weeks.

best to buy a crib
that way the baby can use it until he's two years old
he will grow out of a basinett in a few months

Whatever brand you get make sure its baby proof and strong. Newborns like smaller spaces and you can put it next to your bed so you dont have to go very far for those middle of the night meetings. I got one that was small and a king size pillow case worked as a fitted sheet for. It made my life a world easier.

Your fiance is a smoker? Does he smoke at your house of abode? if so, i might placed the give up to that acceptable away. no be counted if he smokes in a room faraway from toddler or smokes acceptable next to toddler, the toddler is uncovered to the smoke. Or are you worried approximately third-hand smoke out of your fiance's hair and epidermis? if so, you've him bathe in the past mattress. i'm no longer too prepared on co-dozing. i've got seen too many documented situations of ladies individuals smothering their very own little ones. I understand that the threat is tiny, yet I nevertheless can not take it. And we sleep with lots of pillows and blankets that could desire to absolutely slip onto the toddler's face. For SIDS, that's reported which you hold the toddler interior the comparable room with you for a whilst. you ought to use a bassinet, which you would be able to put in conjunction with of your edge of the mattress. or you are able to desire to apply a %.'n'play with a bassinet suitable to it. you are able to roll that anyplace you pick. Or (if there is area) you are able to desire to place the crib on your room with you. that's solid for the toddler to hearken to the sounds of you respiratory whilst it sleeps.

There are cribs that convert to a toddler bed and then a daybed.
More expensive than a plain crib, but way less than buying more furniture later. (It'll also still match the dressers, etc.)
