I 've heard taking a calcium supplement with coffee can defeat the purpose. If so, how long after drinking coffee can I take the calcium supplement?

I cannot find any research indicating coffee inhibits calcium absorption. Caffeine is known to have detrimental effects on calcium balance in the body. It appears to do so primarily by increasing calcium losses in the urine.

Supplements should be taken with meals to aid in digestion/absorption of them. Just be sure you take your calcium supplements with food.

Best wishes and good luck.
