illustrator & photoshop can both edit pdfs. it all depends on what kind of pdf you have..
with vector data available in your pdf (type & shapes) your best bet would be illustrator.
if it's just an image then you can use photoshop.
both of these programs (and acrobat too) can be downloaded from adobe for a 30 day free trail.

easy.....

get rid of adobe everything (except the flash player you need for web surfing)

acrobat is a bloated slow piece of crap for .pdf

get foxit! reader @ www.foxitsoftware.com

its free, fast and better than adobe crap

they have a link button on this software to download their pdf editor

you can use a hex editor and fix everything in hex mode then save the file back to PDF format or text.

You can't. But you could copy the text into a Word document and make the desired changes. However, it won't look like the original document.
