I'm 17, with an IQ of roughly 155, and no one that I know seems to be really interested in what I'm interested in. I would like to meet people with similar interests and capabilities. Would it be worth it for me to try to join my local Mensa, or would I be too young to fit in? (No teenage group near me.)

I know what it's like to be interested in things that others are not interested in. Mensa is definitely an interesting group, and you may find people there who share your interests. You may find, as another answerer put it, a room full of strutting idiots (or words to that effect). Still, they might be strutting idiots who are interested in things that your local high school kids have absolutely no clue about. Try it. You can always quit later ...

You may find it to be your cup of tea --
however, others have found it to be populated by a host of people so hung up on themselves and the impressions they can make on the others that it winds up being a ritual of "strutsville" at most of the meetings with those in attendance far more interested in impressing YOU than they are IN you !!!
