This seems like a simple question but it is actually quite complex. The short answer would be a short term rise followed by an ultimate lowering, assuming and immediate purge of all illegals. When I say "lowering" I don't mean in dollars but in relation to the money you earn. Part of this is due to people leaving existing jobs and taking the food jobs. That creats more demand for people in other positions and raises thier salaries. While illegals do contribute somewhat to the economy they send most of thier money to mexico. Americans are somewhat spoiled but they would take these jobs after the government lowered taxes. You see the problem is that with all the taxes minimum wage is not a livable wage. The illegals take it because they will get 20 guys in a studio apartment and send all the money to mexico or somewhere where it counts for a lot more. Here most americans know they can't get ahead that way and would prefer to shack up with friends or family and wait until they can get a better paying job. The ultimate tax burden ranges between 25-50% much of this is hidden. By having illegals here the government ultimately collects more taxes. Also they often vote illegal for big government and socialist programs. Further we need to up our population in preparation for a possible oil war with china between 2012 and 2025 (keyword: peak oil). From a theoretical legal standpoint the constitution is a contract between american citizens and other american citizens working as the government. This contract is extended to others through visas. Illegal immigrants are not party to this contract and therefor have NO rights. Congress would have to ammend the constitution to change this. Hypothetically you could go on a shooting spree. The catch is our courts have only a token respect for the constitution and in practice you would probably be worse off than if you killed an american. If some prosecutor wanted to have some fun he could get the director of the IRS for conspiracy by giving illegal aliens tax id numbers, thus helping then get jobs illegally.

Probably not. However, maybe part of the productive chain will be outsourced to other countries. Some people think that because labor is only a small part of the final cost of the product you consume at the market, that it weight is evenly spread throughout the productive chain.
At the start of the chain, i.e., farms, some products are indeed very labor intensive. By hiking labor cost at that point, the next part of the chain (processors) might be faced with the option of buying cheaper elsewhere. Whole rural communities might be devastated or require huge federal spendings. Your groceries though will probably cost about the same.

do no longer you love it while somebody says some illegals have lived here for some years and by no skill led to a topic ? properly i can not pad somebody on the lower back and supply them a unfastened pass in simple terms simply by fact they are turning out to be away with criminal trespassing for see you later ! familiar they are in a rustic illegally is in simple terms yet another day they are breaking the regulation ! epidermis colour has no longer something to do with it. They catch greater then in simple terms unlawful Mexicans on the boarders ! If the biggest variety of people breaking the regulation by utilising criminally trespassing into the States is Mexican then it in simple terms is sensible that the biggest variety of those captured may well be Mexican ! that would not recommend Mexicans are a aim...they are in simple terms the biggest variety breaking the regulation ! BTW, i think that States have rights to pass rules and enforce those rules....the Arizona regulation has no longer something to do with the Federal regulation....If the feds have been imposing the guidelines on the books then perhaps Arizona and various different states might have not mandatory their very own rules....yet regrettably that has no longer occurred !

I think the gov't will naturalize E.Ts to do the job that way they can have real Aliens working for them. lol
Now seriously, the costs of food will go up as well as many services most Americans currently enjoy. some may attempt to argue that it won't be by much but they have not considered the impact on hotels and construction and landscaping.
I am well acquainted with these fields and I do not know of any 'legal' Americans that are willing to jump into them to earn a living let alone white. It is not that they can't get a job in any of them if they really want to work because they always need people. Furthermore it takes thousands of dollars to make the step to even get to resident status and poor people that are just hoping to support their families can't afford that. And why is it so high? because Cubans get to come to America for free "legally" and who pays for it the legal Aliens while every year the fee for renewal goes up by about $100 US.
And as for social services? very limited indeed even if you are legal. as a resident you pay social security but you can never get those true benefits unless you are a citizen.
America is built on hard workers and if immigrants are willing to work hard to support their families why deny them.

You must be mighty young if you don't know one white person that will pick fruit, nuts and veggies. I know plenty of white people that have done that. Who do you think was doing this for years before we started being invaded. Its such a cop out to be saying our people won't do this. Like our people won't clean their own houses, they won't do landscaping, they won't do the hard jobs. Its all bull, our people have done it for years. The big corps just figure its more money in their pockets if they can hire some illegal, they can do anything they want, after all he's illegal. Its flat taking the job away from Americans so they can make even more money.

According to studies if the wages of farm workers are raised 40% out of poverty level, where they used to be when Chavez was around, the average family of four would pay $10 more per YEAR on produce. Labor simply isn't a very big percentage of the cost.
On the flip side, so long as they are getting poverty level wages, and especially if they are also 'sending money back' many of them take social services we pay for, either for themselves or in their kids' name. We subsidize those 'cheap' wages while at the same time our children's schools fail, trying to educate those who don't speak our language at a cost drawn from our children's education funds.

People that work at 711 and fast food restaurants get minimum wage, and I see white people working there does that make them white trash.
Besides most fruit picking is done by machine.....automated due to harvesting time constraints and the large quantity that need to be harvest in a short period of time.

Assuming that legal workers will not accept as low of a wage as immigrants, the cost of labor will go up. Costs are passed on to consumers, so prices will go up.
There is also a possibility that, if it is the case that Americans are unwilling to do the job, there will be a labor shortage in the agricultural sector, so there will be a consequential smaller supply of food to the market. Once again, according to economic principles, this will cause prices to rise.
These conclusions, however, rely upon assumptions that I cannot confirm, and may not necessarily be true.

I would like to spout out my political opinion, but will stay to the question. Even tho I do not believe that is the question to ask.
Did you know that California produce farmers are hiring lobbyists to get subsidy for their produce? Why? Because China sends it cheaper here then they can produce. Also, much of our produce comes from abroad already. So I personally do not believe it will affect our price of food much. Less then 5% would be my estimate.

how do you think fruit was picked before?! by lower class americans who needed jobs! to deny they even exist is incredibly ignorant. americans built this great country. you sound kinda racist against whites. and if you're white yourself thats pretty sad to put down ur own race like that! wow, you'll pay a couple cents more for fruit. it will be well worth it in the long run because they wont drain system anymore! duh!
not one white person works at that orchard because the employers are crooks who hire them for low wages.
