Unfortunatly California's DOC website dose not have an inmate locator. So first call the jail and get his jail id number. You can also ask for instructions then. Many jails have a drop box where you can drop cash in. I been incarcerated many times and have never had a problem with drop boxes.

You'll have to go down to Twin Towers (thats where men are being held since Mens central is now closed. The women are being housed some place else now), but be sure to have your friends full name and booking # with you. You can get that by going on LASD.com if you already don't have their number. Doing it on-line is not an option at this time, due to on-line scams and fraud issues. Also I've had a couple of friends that were in prison and when the time came about for me to send them some money I just sent them a check or a money order. One of the prisons had me put their banking info ion the paid to order line and then another I just put my friends name.
I guess it all depends on the prison or jail.
Visit the site that I mentioned above it will give you all the information that you'll need to know. Once again it is www.LASD.com*----- I'm not sure if its com or org. If you have google just put LASD and you'll see Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department Inmate Information. Good Luck

In some states, one would mail a money order to the inmate, made out to the inmate with the inmate number on it. The prison cashes it and applies the money to the account of the inmate. 20% of all money sent to an inmate goes to the Victim's Assistance Fund. In my state, you must send the money through an electronic website with a credit or debit card - and the same 20% is deducted from the funds.

Your question is a bit unclear as to what will be happening to this prisoner. Extradition refers to being sent to another state. If he was going to be extradited, there would be no reason for him to go to San Jose. I tend to think you mean that he was arrested in Los Angeles based upon a warrant from San Jose. If so, he will probably not be in the Los Angeles County Jail too long. (Unless he is convicted of a felony, he won't be in a prison at all.)

The information you were given about the Sheriff's web site, lasd.org, is correct, but the information you want is hard to find there, so here it is:

From the IRC part of the site:

To mail money to an inmate anywhere in the Los Angeles County Jail system send a Bank Cashier's Check, Money Order or Postal Money Order to P.O. Box 86164 Terminal Annex Los Angeles, CA 90086-0164. Refer to the Inmate Mail Regulations for further guidelines.

To deposit money for an inmate anywhere in the Los Angeles County Jail system, in person, there are two locations. The Cashier's window in the lobby at IRC is open 24 hours, everyday.

The Inmate Reception Center is at 450 Bauchet Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012. (I cannot find anywhere on the site where the second location is.)

The mail guidelines indicate that the money order sent to an inmate cannot exceed $200. It is unclear whether you can deposit cash, rather than a money order, in person, but I believe you can.

If this fellow goes to San Jose, he will be in the Santa Clara County jail. Here is their rule from

http://www.sccgov.org/portal/site/scc/menuitem.703902acf1cfd388dfe093102830a429?faqSite=Correction%2C%20Department%20of%20(DEP)#null

All money for an inmate must be sent through the U.S. Postal Service to the mailing address of the facility where the inmate is housed. Visiting officers will accept NO cash or checks. Money sent to an inmate must be in the form of a money order or cashier's check made payable to "Santa Clara County Department of Correction.'' The maximum amount is $300. Always include the inmate's name, booking number and Personal File Number (PFN) on each check or money order.

Yes! it can be done on line if you do it thru western union go to prison talk and it will tell you how. i would suggest that you wait until inmate reaches destination then call for further instructions some places require an inmate $ slip. if you do it now before extradited chanches money order will be sent back to you and have some long wait. Good Luck!

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://bitly.im/aOh2N

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

if the inmate is in prison, all prisons ONLY take money orders, you need to have inmates full name AND inmate # you also have to have your full name and complete address. Just fill the money order out correctly. I've been an inmate and if it's not filled out properly they return it and that really sucks if you are the inmate.
if the inmate is in jail they will take cash at the jail or same thing money order. it cannot be done online, inmates money will follow him every where he goes but if he goes somewhere there is a booking fee, yeap he has to pay that booking fee
