This is an age old question. You have to decide if it would be worth losing him as a friend to gain him as a partner My advice would be to hang on to the friendship and look for a boyfriend in another guy.

if it was me i wouldn't rush him. he just got out of a reletionship and he is probally either looking for a booty call or a rebound chick and u do'nt want to be one of thos girls. wait about a month or two then make ur move. take it slow. if u rush then theres a chance that one of u two will want to go faster then the other and wind up hurting the other person. and if hes the friend u say he is then slow and simple at first is worth it. good luck and hopefully everything works out!

i had a similar situation and i guess you just have to be careful. maybe, try not to make a big deal about it but just bring it up sometime and see where the conversation takes you. it's not like you don't know him so maybe he has feelings for you. i mean the worst that can happen is that he says no and that doesn't mean you have to stop being friends. i mean i asked my friend and we have been dating for 8 months.

He already knows that u like him. If u don't ask him, he'll think that u lost interest. Now is the perfect chance to sink in and get him. Go for it!
Good luck!

Definately tell him (friendships and dating relationships both should be based on honesty), but don't neccesarily ask him out or push him until he's over his previous gf.

If you pursue him you're putting yourself in a bad position. He's thinking yea man, I got this its a given, I don't have to work for anything. He's got you in his back pocket. If he wants you he'll come for you. He's well aware that you like him you've already told him whats up. The question is are you willing to accept it if he doesn't ask you out.

Don't go after him now. If you two did get together at this point, it would be pure rebound. Continue to be good friends for a while, maybe a month or two, & then bring back up your feelings.

Well if he knows you like him, then just wait and see, you don't wanna push it since he just broke up with someone else. I know it's hard, but just be patient...he knows how you feel, if he feels the same he will act on it soon enough. Good luck!!

From my experiences if your that good of friends and have a healthy friendship than I don't think it's worth jeopardizing your friendship...
