Your body has to warm up the water to use it, so yes, you do burn slightly more calories if you drink cold water.
standing does burn more calories than sitting, but i don't think you would burn 2x the calories in a normal day.
you burn more calories running than walking though you can burn the same calories as running if you walk further.
you don't have to get all sweaty to get into shape. there is nothing wrong with sweating. just drink some cold water to rehydrate after wards. don't drink energy drinks as they are only beneficial to those athletes who are working out for hours at a time. drink some water and have a piece of fruit and some protein and you should be fine.

:::::Does drinking COLD water help you burn more calories than room temperature water?:::::
Water is not going to burn calories for you. Now if you drank something caloric (like tea) and drank it REALLLLLY cold, it may burn a BIT of calories trying to lower it down. But by bit, that could mean 4 or 5. It's not a major change. Drinking enough liquids (that aren't high in sugar or anything) throughout your day--regardless of the temperature--will help with weight loss by keeping you full and helping your metabolic processes go along. Drink the temperature water that YOU like and that you will be able to keep up drinking enough of.
:::::Do you burn twice as many calories if you stand as if you sit?:::::
According to a calc, someone who is 145lb will burn 22 calories standing for 15 minutes, and 15 sitting for 15 minutes. So, no, it's not double. Here is the calc if you need it:
http://www.healthcalculators.org/calculators/calories_burned.asp
:::::If you walk a mile do you burn the same amount of calories as if you run it?:::::
Absolutely not. The distance isn't important. How much effort you put into the exercise is what counts. You need to get your heart rate up and pumping to burn calories. To burn calories efficiently, your heart rate should be in it's 65-85% max range. Your max is 220 minus your age. Then take that number and multiply it by 0.65 and then separtely by 0.85, this will give you the range to keep your heart rate in. If you can walk and keep your heart rate at at least 65% of your max, then you should be fine... but you definately won't burn as much if you ran.
::::: Do you have to get really sweaty to get in shape?:::::
Nope. But you need to get your heart rate up, like I said above. If your heart rate is that high, then you MAY get pretty sweaty. It also really depends on the person. Some people get sweaty just walking... others may need to workout reallly intensely before they break a sweat.

yes drinking cold water does help because your metabolism speeds up when your body compensates for the temperature drop and it tries to bring it back up to balance
most likely you do burn twice as many calories standing up rather than sitting down due to the exertion you put on your muscles, this is exactly why free weight sets are better than machine type ones.
walking burns less calories than running but you must also factor in the time it takes you to accomplish it. You would only be running for about 9-10 minutes , where you would be walking for about 15 minutes. Those extra minutes of walking will probably make it close but the running is most likely more calories burned.
and yes you need to get sweaty to get into shape.. you need to get your heart moving and get in your target heart zone to get a cardiovascular work out. and that will autmotacally make your body sweat

No I have read that it does not burn calories. And it does not do damage to our organs. As a matter of fact liquids that you put into your body that are warm sit in your stomach longer and take longer for your body to use them for rehydration. Drinking cool water has a cooling efect which can be wonderful for the body, if after a workout the body can quickly rehydrate. I wouldnt estimate you have to get Real Sweaty to get into shape, however if you keep your cadence up in a workout for longer it can have better efect on overall fitness. For example, Jogging three miles and keeping your heartrate elevated versus sprinting a half mile is a way for your body to burn more calories. You dont have to kill and exhaust yourself to stay in shape.
The only thing I can think of that I hear reduces calories by ingestion is Celery. I hear that it takes more calories to burn it, then it has of calories. Mainly because I think it is mostly compused of fibers.
hope this helps.

Drinking one U.S. gallon of ICE-COLD water a day will burn 123 calories a day.
I don't know how much calories but yes, you would burn more calories if you stand, but I don't think it will be that big of a difference.
You will definately burn more calories running it than walking it.
No, this is not true. When you sweat it just means that your body temperature is going up and sweating is your bodies cooling mechanism. Although sweating does indicate that you are working out harder. That is why if somebody who weighed 100 pounds ran a mile and then a 200 pound person ran a mile, the 200 pound person would sweat more for he weighs more and it is harder for him to run than the 100 pound person.

No cold water burns the same calories as warmish water.
You do not have to sweat to lose weight. Walking is the best form of exercise (according to all my doctors).

All you have to do is to simply drink 8-12 glasses of water a day, no to carbonated drinks, sweets, chocolates, spicy, salty and fatty food. Just eat fruits and vegetables. Try it. I lose weight from 75kilos to 62kilos in 3 months.
Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!!!!!!
