They are the ones out there taking the jobs of those who stay at home and depend on the government. People should focus more helping this country become a better a place and show some respect for those who actually are trying to put food on the table. Yeah its wrong for some one to "jump" over but what about those that are here trying to contribute like going to school and paying out of their own pocket.

Your "logic" is not rational. How can you help this country become a better place if its legal citizens when 12 million people without regard of the laws of the US or the legal citizens. Why should the American taxpayer be expected to provide benefits to those that have done nothing to earn those benefits except "jump the fence". Why not stay and work in their own country, if as you say, they are, "...trying to put food on the table."
No country can continue to exist if it does not enforce its borders and immigration policy. Schools cost taxpayer dollars, how many illegal aliens are paying taxes and have contributed more to this country then they receive?
If illegal aliens are so interested in coming to this country and being productive and pay taxes, etc. they why not do it legally?
Why doesn't the desire exist within them to improve their native country? Why not stay home and work??

Why don't they stay in Mexico or wherever and do what needs to be done in order to improve their own Countries conditions rather than come here and be exploited by our Corporate interests and use our own legally provided services to their advantage?

I watched a bus load of illegal workers tear out Asbestos on a Federal Courthouse in my juristiction. Not only did the General contractor get away from paying the prevailing wage--which is the law regarding Gov't jobs, those workers that should have been on that job--were screwed--along with all the entities those workers would have spent their income on.

In the meantime, my insurance costs absorb every nickel of a raise that my Union bargains for. Our schools are so poor in the Detroit area that half of them have closed in the past ten years. Me Amigo can Ondelay Ondelay right back home!!

Its obvious you don't live in an area where the Mexican Mafia and their gang members are bringing all their drugs and guns across the border and terrorizing innocent people. I live near a major city which is relatively close to the border and its not really all that safe to drive your car on the freeways after dark anymore because of all these illegal gang bangers out there. If you'd like some of them, just hang in there, I'm sure they'll work their way to wherever it is you live sooner rather than later. This is a serious problem that must be stopped NOW!

I don't think that people "hate" illegals. In fact, as you have mentioned, illegals have contributed, especially in the actual contstruction of this country. I personally feel for people trying to escape a life of poverty in Mexico and other Latin countries. But, the problem isn't so simple. Not all, but many, illegals come here with little formal education and don't learn English. Therefore they are pigenholed into jobs that pay little and they are taken advantage of. And to your point that everyone breaks laws... you are mistaken. And, for those of us who are citizens, we would go to jail if we didn't pay our taxes.... which is really, I think, the central theme of this debate. And, what would be the incentive for obtaining legal residence in this country if we turn the other cheek to those who are breaking the law.

"In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Theodore Roosevelt 1907

The key is "illegal". How hard is that to understand? Why would I want to help out someone who is doing something illegal? There are ways to immigrate legally. You can't justify it by saying "hey, haven't you ever broken the law?", as if that somehow makes it all OK....it's not.
