the biting and nibbling is never strong enough that she actually tears the sheets or blankets but she does it constantly...

Sometimes the "nya nya nya" biting is an affiliative gesture, an offshoot of feeling happy and cozy. Why she picks the sheets? She may like the feel of them. Perhaps it is part of wanting to feel cozy in a nest of blankets.
My Pittie does that, too. Only she tears them, eventually.

How can somebody no longer tell the variation between a Lab and a Pug?? i've got regularly occurring for an extremely long term that Pits should not be the only ones on the "risky" record. i've got had some undesirable stories with canines yet humorous, none of them have been Pits! the only element a Pit ever did to me develop into bounce on my lap and lick me to demise...oh and get hair throughout my outfits! I do experience undesirable for that childs father and mom, my heart is going out to them. upload: Blizzards blanket is hunter eco-friendly and Dinkys blanket is any coloration that I even have on my mattress that day.

I agree with RenoDogMom that some dogs probably do this out of contentment.

I've had 2 Shelties with this habit (one has since passed away). They'd get a glazed look in their eyes while doing this, as though they were in a very blissful state. I eventually gave them their own pillows w/pillowcases so they could do this to their heart's content and leave *my* pillows alone, lol! I've always called this habit "typing" because my first Sheltie was so loud when she did it that she sounded like a typewriter.

Mine has been obsessively nibling and I believe its because she is bored. Use to take her out off leash every night and for three months I have been working on my house and unable to take her out. Theres been quite a few changes in her behavior since I have not taken her out.

She's probably bored. My dogs only chew on things that they aren't supposed to when they are bored. Maybe give her a bone to chew on or a toy to play with. Or it might be something more breed specific.
