Where can I find a base that attaches to the ceiling to hang my ceiling fixture.?

I bought a hanging light and it did not come with a base that attaches to the ceiling. I have a cord but have no way of attaching it to my ceiling. Where can I find a base?

Are you sure it need's the base? if it has a cord that plugs into an outlet it may hang from a hook.

I don't think ceiling fans are meant to have "hanging" light from them. With all the vibration, I think it would always be moving about.

Home Depot or any of those home improvement centers - in the lighting section they have light parts for sale.
