I've taken percocet 5/325 many times before. I know that the 5 stands for the oxycodone and the 325 stands for the acetomiphan. So can I assume that Oxycontin 10 is equal to 2 percocets? I ask because I have heard the dangers of taking oxycontin, and I do not want to risk my life taking it

You're right in part. Percocet 5/325 has 5 mg of oxycodone in it, and Oxycontin 10 has twice as much. But the Oxycontin is in a slow-release formulation, so the Percocet would normally be taken perhaps once every 4 hours for a total daily dose of 30 mg., whereas the Oxycontin would normally be taken at twelve-hour intervals, for a total daily dose of 20 mg. Much of the danger you've heard about is not inherent in the drug, but in its misuse. Oxycontin comes in much larger doses, for patients who are in severe pain and have developed a tolerance over time (such as cancer patients). If these are broken or chewed, and the entire twelve-hour dose is released at once, a serious or fatal overdose can result.

percocet has 5mg of oxycodone and has acetametaphine (tylenol) oxcontin is straight oxycodone. 10mg = 2 pills 20=4 40=8 and so on...both are equally as addictive, so be careful. the stigma with the oxycontin (often referred to as hillbilly heroin) is commonly abused by wrongful ingestion such as shooting or snorting. If you are to use your script as the doctor prescribed, i am sure you will be fine. take only as needed and do ot exceed the reccomended dose. Do not let fear keep you in pain, just be smart. also keep in mind thta there are several non-opiate pain killers that may be just as effective for you. good luck!

Marijuana doesnt reason even a fragment of the impairment point of oxy. And oxy is particularly chemically addictive on the same time as marijuana isnt. John doe... your thumbs down are when you consider which you arent clever sufficient to appreciate that few human beings definitely smoke anymore.. Its all vaporizing and cooking, at lead medicinally.

actually, oxy 10 IS NOT equal to 2 percocets...oxy 10 does not have acetaminpohen (Tylenol (r))
yes, you can become dependent on it and suffer problems with it

oxycontin is very additive and a very strong pain killer youll be fine as long as you dont take more than what you are suppose to
