Obviously not AIDS or something crazy like that. Like herpes or something like that. (Sorry, not sure of all the kinds of stds, but i guess something thats permanent but not painful or really dangerous.)
And assume you really actually like them a LOT. Obviously, if theres not a very strong interest, any sane person would run for the door!

like scabes? (small skin dwelling paracites often sexually transmitted)
lol I'd slap them on the back and say (with a big grin)
well all you need is a decent dermetologist and some pesticides.
it depends on the STD.

most STD's are actually rather painful...

Ooo..that's tough. Well, all I can really tell you is you're going to have to decide whether or not you love this person enough to continue the relationship and consequently aquire an STD from them. Because in all seriousness, no matter how careful you are, if you stay with them you WILL get it too. It's a hard decision to make, but it's your call. If you're a girl, chances are it will pose more of a risk to you physically (we have an open reproductive system vs. guys' closed).

Best of luck to you and your significant other.

If you love someone nothing will get in the way - you should always be safe with everyone STD or not. You should always look after your body but I do think that love is something that you should always keep if you find it no matter what. Just b/c someone has an STD gives NOONE the right to not give them love or look after them. If u have found that someone you have a good talk with them and talk about how its going to work and how you can both be safe. So sit them down talk with them in an open matter ((b/c you are in love u can have this talk without any worries)) Be open, Be safe and smart and love xoxxox

The reality is, that after enough time passes in a committed relationship, condoms are not used anymore.

So, unless you want to use a condom FOREVER with this person, then I say move along and find someone else.

Unless you want to have protective sex forever even after marriage I would leave. Oral sex is out of the question unless a condom is used. Herpes can not be cured.....

run for the door and don't look back. it would be hard to do if you really like this person, but you would eventually get over it.
