There are 2 reasons that Christians worship on Sunday! The first being that Jesus arose from the grave on Sunday and the second being that we are instructed to bring our tithes to the storehouse on the first day of the week(Sunday)!

In the ancient Church, Christians met in temples and synagogues to celebrate the Sabbath, and then met on Sunday morning in private homes to celebrate the distinctly Christian aspects of their faith. This practice has persisted down to the modern era. Traditional Christian denominations still meet at sundown on Saturday and practice a liturgical ritual very similar to the ancient Jewish Sabbath service, complete with readings from the Psalms and the Prophets. In fact, Greek Orthodox Churches still recite the "Evening Hymn of the Greeks" at the Saturday vespers, just as it was recited by Christians in the first few centuries of our era. Ancient Christians were still meeting in Jewish synagogues for the Saturday Vespers as late as the 5th century, and Christians did not start building their own places of worship until the middle of the 3rd century. Among the indeigenous Christians of Russia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, Mesopotamia, and India, Saturday is still considered the Sabbath, and is celebrated as a day of rest in preparation for the Eucharist, which is observed on Sunday morning. Most modern Protestant denominations have abandoned such traditional practices, and have changed the Sabbath from Saturday to Sunday, justifying the change as a veneration of the resurrection of Christ on the first day of the week.

Because Christianity is just reformed pagan Mithraism and that was the holy day of Mitraist
. "Another influence in the early Christian Church was Mithraism- an ancient Oriental cult of the sun. This cult came to Rome in the first century A.D. and became popular in the second and third centuries. The central feature of this cult was the worship of the sun upon the first day of the week. Historians have written concerning the influence of Mithraism on Christianity" (Now that's clear, Leo Schreven, 1994, p101)
. "as a solar festival, Sunday was the sacred day of Mithra; and it is interesting to notice that since Mithra was addressed, as Dominus, 'Lord," Sunday must have been 'the Lord's Day' long before Christian times." (Now that's clear, Leo Schreven, Seventh-day Adventist "Revelation Seminar speaker, Canada, 1994, p101, quoting, The Paganism in Our Christianity, Arthur Weigall, 1928, p136)
. Arthur Weigall: The Church made a sacred day of Sunday ... "largely because it was the weekly festival of the sun; for it was a definite Christian policy to take over the pagan festivals endeared to the people by tradition, and to give them a Christian significance." (The Paganism in Our Christianity, Arthur Weigall, 1928, p136, as quoted by many Seventh-day Adventists to prove that Sunday is pagan)

Christians changed the day they worshipped on based on the day Christ was resurected from the tomb which was on a Sunday. So, to honor his resurection they began worshipping on Sunday.

THE EARLY CHRISTIANS, MOST OF WHOM WERE JEWISH, KEPT THE SEVENTH DAY AS A SABBATH, BUT SINCE THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS WAS SO CRUCIAL TO THEIR FAITH, THEY BEGAN VERY EARLY ALSO TO MEET FOR WORSHIP ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK (ACTS 2:1) AND DESIGNATED IT AS THE LORD'S DAY. PAUL DIRECTED THE CORINTHIAN CHRISTIANS TO BRING THEIR WEEKLY OFFERING TO THE CHARITIES OF THE CHURCH ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK (I CORINTHIANS 16:1-2). AS THE SPLIT BETWEEN THE JEWS AND CHRISTIANS WIDENED, CHRISTIANS CAME GRADUALLY TO MEET FOR WORSHIP ONLY ON THE LORD'S DAY AND GAVE UP THE OBSERVANCE OF THE SEVENTH DAY.
JESUS WORSHIPPED EVERY DAY, ALL DAY LONG BY ALWAYS HONORING HIS FATHER FIRST AND PUTTING OTHERS NEEDS BEFORE HIS OWN!
MATTHEW 22:37-40
JESUS REPLIED: "LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND. THIS IS THE FIRST AND GREATEST COMMANDMENT. AND THE SECOND IS LIKE IT; 'LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' ALL THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS HANG ON THESE TWO COMMANDMENTS.
JOHN 4:23-24
"YET A TIME IS COMING AND HAS NOW COME WHEN THE TRUE WORSHIPERS WILL WORSHIP THE FATHER IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH, FOR THEY ARE THE KIND OF WORSHIPERS THE FATHER SEEKS. GOD IS SPIRIT, AND HIS WORSHIPERS MUST WORSHIP IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH."
ROMANS 12:1
THEREFORE, I URGE YOU, BROTHERS, IN VIEW OF GOD'S MERCY, TO OFFER YOUR BODIES AS LIVING SACRIFICES, HOLY AND PLEASING TO GOD--THIS IS YOUR SPIRITUAL ACT OF WORSHIP.

Because the bible says that the followers of Jesus, after Jesus has ascended into heaven, met on the first day of the week. It is also commonly thought this is so because that is the day He rose.

Early on there were those who wanted to be seperate from Jews. Not very honest reasons. Jesus arose on the 1st day of the week was the pretext.
