I have a disk in my back that is causeing my nerve in my right leg to hurt so bad anytime i move i hurt. Its causeing my foot to swell. Anyone have any advise on how to make it feel better.

ok i got 4 slipped disc in lower back yes they will cause swelling and a lot of pain they best thing is to lay back take it easy and let the swelling go down and another thing is to learn to slow down thera patch from wal mart and ibupron work good

Steroids and some pain pills are your best bet for temporary relief. If you have any problems going to the bathroom (inability or incontinence) you need to go to the ER ASAP. These are symptoms that indicate the nerve is being strained which could lead to permanant problems. Slipped discs should not cause your leg to swell. this may be a different problem entirely

I had a bulging disc a few years ago and could hardly walk and the pain was terrible. Also had some numbness. The dr prescribed steroid medication to relieve the swelling and it took off the pressure and I have only had minor problems since the treatment.

My lower disc of my spine is messed up and pressing on the nerve that caused pain as far down as my knee.....first surgeon said lets try physical therapy and see if can stop the pain and if so can save you surgery....took it 3 days a week for 5 weeks and thats been months ago.....am doing ok so far

go see a chiropractor and have him adjust L4 through S1
