I also have a young dog, who is part pit bull. I have found that if his toys cost me less than $10, they are not tough enough. They need to be made of tough rubber like a kong (kongs are great). Every time I try to buy something that looks tough, but it was cheap, he destroys it in minutes. There are also these hard chew toys called Galileo, (they are like $15-$20) and those are good for the strong chewers, too.

The only thing I've found that my APB doesn't chew through right away is an actual bone. He can demolish one of the black Kongs (for powerful chewers) in an hour or so. He enjoys the great big rawhide rolls, which can usually last a day or two, but that's about it.

A Kong will last some time. But get two so when the 1st one is chewed up he will have another handy.

They also make large hard plastic balls. They are the size of a basketball He will not wear that out.

You question is almost an oxymoron. A Pitbull is bred to chew through things. Other dogs, you, your kids, your wife(husband).
So are you bragging or complaining? My grandddaughter has a rescued pit bull (bred for pit fighting, saved in a raid) that guards my greatgranddaughter. I would not send a swat team against that dog. If you have a pitbull, please use it as a family guard dog. Give it big toys to chew. Don't use it to fight. That is in- humane. They are great dogs, but they have their limits. Your male is questionable. Is he neutered? He must be to be safe.

There are chew toys specifically for aggressive chewers. Try those. And also try active things that don't involve chewing - running, playing ball, walks, dog parks.

i suggest getting a kong toy or a nyla-bone. my collie puppy used to chew up everything but now he goes right for the nyla-bone. they dont rip or break like the other toys from the stores and they are well worth the extra dollar or two.

He's a pitbull, so what do you expect a breed like that to do otherwise? They were bred to be killers and maul other dogs in the pit, so don't expect anything less.

We have the same problem!!!!!MOST of the toys we get have a chew warranty...like kongs....if they chew it you get a free one from where you bought it.....also your dog MIGHT be still teething!!!!Tennis balls are good and toy ropes.....other than that our dog outgrew that in a year or so....
Good Luck

Get a Kong. They are a little pricey but they will last. They are the only toys I can buy for my pits.
