Hydrogen Peroxide is okay, and so is the neosporin, but make sure that the dog doesn't lick it off (it can cause vomiting and diarrhea).

Hydrogen peroxide is more than ok to use. Most if not all pet hospitals use it to clean up dogs. Neosporin can also be used if you have nothing else, vets like to use other topicals just because they have others available to them. Odds are you dog will lick it off though. Best bet is to clean it out (usually when it is still fresh) and the dog will keep it clean by licking and it will heal fine if it is truly minor.

Some dogs have reactions to neosporin. I wouldn't recomend hydrogen peroxide. If it's a minor cut I wouldn't worry about it and would just let it heal naturally. The dog will be fine if it's bad enough to have to clean it I would suggest taking your dog to a vet.

Yes. The cut should be cleaned with a little soap and warm water first. The it's ok to use neosporin, but remember a little goes long way. I would apply and wipe off the excess. The little amount left if the dog licks it off really won't hurt the dog. Don't use peroxide as it actually destroys tissue and slows the clotting process.

Depending on where the cut is - use epsom salt soaks. No peroxide. Peroxide kills the good tissue along with the germs. Neosporn is ok, or any tripple antibiotic ointment. If it is not a serious cut try and keep it clean, but dont' fuss too much over it. It will heal.

if it is just a minor cut, clean it w/ hydrogen peroxide and follow with neosporin.. you dont want to use hydrogen peroxide on deep cuts because it kills the tissue around the wound and actually causes a longer healing process...

yes my vet uses neosporn for all of the dogs and cats that get cuts and its ok if you use peroxide with a cotton ball but don't use alot of it and never use rubbing alcohol on an animal. good luck and i pray that your dog will be ok

both are just fine. My dog got cut on a fence a few weeks ago.. it wasnt deep, but we took her to the vet anyway.. they did just that... they cleaned it with peroxide, applied a "neosporin type" cream, and wrapped it up! Of course.. my dog ripped the bandage off the minute she got a chance.. but he said as long as we kept it clean, its no big deal. He said we probably could have let her just lick it clean herself, and it would have healed just as well.

Mild soap and water are probably best. If you dog can reach the cut, he/she is likely to lick at the wound. Neosporin and other products shouldn't be ingested by you or your dog. Remember to flush the area with plenty of water. You'll probably have to wash it often to keep it clean.

i have used both on my doggy, and it works good, whatever you do, don't ever use alcohol on your dog. just get a cotton ball and clean it with peroxide and then put a little neosporin on it. make sure it's a small cut,and it doesn't get infected cause he may need too see the vet.
