I know there are a number of things, chocolate, grapes, etc., but are there any other basic foods that some dogs may be allergic to, or just have general problems with. Particuarly ingredients in homemade dog biscuits: flour, nutritional yeast, broth, vegetable oil, various seasonings, etc.
Any info you can give me pertaining to this would be great!

When we made homemade dog biscuts for the animal shelter we had to use a special recipe. It had to have whole wheat flour and peanut butter for flavoring. Here is a recipe I found on the internet.
I N G R E D I E N T S
1 1/2 cups water
1/2 cups safflower oil (or canola oil)
2 medium eggs
3 tablespoons peanut butter (sugar free, creamy)
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/4 cups unbleached white flour
1/2 cups cornmeal
1/2 cups rolled oats
Additional flour for rolling
I N S T R U C T I O N S
Preheat oven to 400 F.
Mix water, oil, eggs, peanut butter, and vanilla with a wire whisk. Add flours, cornmeal, and oats. Combine with a mixer.
Take one-third of the dough and place on a floured surface. Flour top of dough. Gently knead, adding more flour as necessary to form a pliable dough (This will require
a substantial amount of flour). Roll out to 1/2 - 3/4 inch thickness and cut shapes using cookie cutters. Repeat until all dough is used.
Place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake 400 F, 20-25 minutes, depending on thickness of biscuits . Leave in oven 20 minutes after turning oven off to crisp.
Store in an airtight container
I hope this is what you needed

Any dog food or treats containing corn is not good for your pet. Over time, corn can cause many health issues from minor problems such as bad breath and dry, flaky skin to major issues such as premature arthritis, heart disease. Dogs bodies are made to survive on meat, fruit and vegetables so any food with a high grain content can jeopardize your dogs health over time. Also avoid food that contains meat-by-products. These are the left over parts of the animal, ground up and used as the "meat" in the dog food. Also avoid any sugars and processed dairy.
Dogs can eat raw meat, raw meat diets are actually very good for dogs and if you look on the Internet, you would be able to find some very well-balanced raw meat recipes for your dog should you choose to go that route. As far as meat bones, never give your dog cooked bones, but raw bones, which are much softer and non-splintering are okay. Plain, unsweetened yogurt is also very good for your dog and can be given plain or mixed in with their food.
I know the better quality food is more expensive but will save you a lot of vet bills and frustration along with giving you more health years with your beloved pet.

Yes, dogs can be allergic to anything, much like people. I know someone whose dog is allergic to all the major components in dog food and common dog biscuits. (Wheat flour, yeast, etc.) He has to buy a hypoallergenic dog food for his dog. Check with your local veterinarian. They can run a test for allergic reactions.

This is a list of things my vet told me to avoid in food and treats because they are the biggest allergy problems in dogs. you should also stay away from chocolate, onions, grapes and raisins.

My chihuahua had a serious problem digesting anything fried from a fast food type restaurant. It had something to do with the type of oil the foods were fried in. A couple of very tiny pieces of meat off of a hamburger from one of these places caused serious digestive problems and a huge vet bill. BEWARE!

The worse cause of allergies in dog food is corn meal. Then yeast, preservatives, etc.

Onion and chocolate are big No no's for dogs, they can apparently die if they eat these. Arsenic is also not good for them.
