Just don't worry about it. If she's your gf then she already loves you and wouldn't want to go to the prom with anyone else. Just say, "Hey babe, you wanna go to the prom wth me?" then she'll say yes and everything will work out according to plan.

W/ my bf... It's almost automatic... I mean, you're together right? So doesn't it kinda fall into place that you're going w/ her?
Although, my bf still went through the traditional thing and asked me last year. He sent me a bouquet of flowers. A CD is attached to the card and when I played it, it was my bf, asking me to go to the prom w/ him.
Lol, I guess its kinda romantic and all. You should try something like that. That way, you wouldn't have to face her directly. Be careful though, don't do balloons, etc. if your gf's scared of them. Or flowers she's alergic to. Research.

If she is already your girlfriend- do you really have to ask her. BF and GF are expected to go to places as a couple.
If she is not your GF- you either need to become that couple first- or ask her for the date.

Just ask the question and get over being shy...If she is your girlfriend I am sure she expects you to ask her anyway..If you do not speak up in today's world you will miss out on many opportunities. So use this as practice and speak up!
