It is another semi-clever trick to invalidate criticism of religious ideas.

blinded believer: my epic and ambiguous ideas about the world are true! can't you see?

rational thinker: no, you merely have a story that contains elements of truth in it, none of which necessitate the truth of your ideas, there are other contending theories which are not so gratuitous and arbitrary as yours! do you know anything about truth and logic?

blinded believer: aahhhh but that is because your brain has been secretly made faulty by spirits, ghosts, gods or something like that!!! you can never knooowww the truth... that is why your argument is invalid! your scientific "logic" is nothing but trickery used to try to hide people from the one REAL truth, the truth of the western united tabernacle reform unitarian orthodox church!!!

Smacks of sinister mind control to me :).. ah wait.. sorry.. that's what lots of belief systems are based on, how else could they make people believe such laughably outrageous things. There should be mandatory classes on logic, critical and rational thinking in public schools.

Your details are a bit confusing.
I can only respond by saying that yes. Christianity uses the brain washing method of convincing you that you are broken and are doomed with no hope of solving your problems. Once this has been pushed to crisis they tell you that only they can offer you an escape from your mental crisis. The escape is conversion. Conversion includes complete commitment to their control system. This includes installing an internalized "Big Brother Thought Police System" which simply makes you file all doubts and questions under evil Satanic influence. This is designed to return you to the fear state of the emotional breakdown instigated at the beginning of the conversion process.
If you have doubts Hang onto them and never get caught alone by the Christers. They prey upon people just like you. Once intelligent people have been converted by the Cult called Christianity it is very hard for them to break free. Their own intelligence becomes a weapon against themseves. I suggest you find a book called Moonwebs by Josh Freed, or rent the movie. It manages to put the methods of brainwashing across fairly well.
The most important thing is to be able to defend your own mind from malicious attacks. There arte more modern writings on the subject and there are those who descibe the basics od Christian Dogma as a "meme". A set of ideas that work like a mental computer virus or worm. The main thingis to be very leary of anything claiming to be the only way to salvation or the only truth. Anything claiming this is always a lie.

If God gave man a mind to block the "truth" then what kind of God is he?

Thing is, there is one force that made man dominate the world. If a bird denies its wings, it will die. If a lion denies its claws and fangs, it will die. If a man decides not to think and reason, HE would die.

The most difficult thing to deal with in Religion is the suspension of reason in favor of faith. Has a christian ever told you "how can your finite mind presume to understand something infinite and absolute?" This is the suspension of reason I am talking about. The humiliation of mankind's greatest asset. His mind. Have you ever wondered why Adam and Eve were forbiden to eat from the tree of KNOWLEDGE? (Some claim it refers to carnal knowledge! - Carnal knowledge my foot, are they now humiliating sex?!)

So no matter what evidence you present to christians, they will always go back to "everything happens for a reason" or "the heart has reason that reason does not know." So what do they do to subvert the mind? They belittles its accomplishments. They can't deny that they belittled Copernicus and Galileo. They can't deny that they belittled Darwin. They can't deny belittling science right now with creationism!

The mind is not faulty. It has gotten you as far as where you are now. It will take you even further. Those who tell you otherwise have an agenda. They will tell you that it was god who got you so far. They will tell you that you owe him your life. They will tell you you owe him your mind! Then they want you to sacrifice your mind! They demand that you surrender your thought! To the christians credit, when they loosened up and accepted the writings of the pagan greeks, they moved forward. They should learn from that and move forward even further.

Now tell these Christians to look around. Stop looking at the sky and the sea, whose alleged creator we only imagine to be Ra, Zeus, Allah, Yahweh, Odin... or whatever your guess is. Start looking at that computer you are facing. Man's mind built that. The car that you probably drive. Man's mind did that. The Hoover Dam... the Apollo landings we all know that man's mind did that. Now tell me, whose accomplishments are easier to deny. Man's or God's?

If there were a god, I do not think it would be so petty and malicious as to deceive us to the degree that many christians are willing to believe. The simplest and most logical explanation is not that we can't understand why god does what it does, but rather that the concept of god formed 3000 years ago is now clearly untenable.

Since the bible is a creation of mans faulty mind, religion is a product of that same faulty mind, and man created god in his image from that same faulty mind........chrsitians take all that to mean they are right....go figure

The ironic part is that while the bible seems ridiculous from a logical point of view, to their 'faulty' minds it seems like the unquestionable truth.

Look at Creation. Every piece of evidence says evolution occured. Don't let idiots wave a book (even if it is a good book) in your face and tell you the book's story of Creation is superior to Creation itself. They can't tell a driver's manual from a car. Be good and honest, and if you're damned go with pride.

religion is a mind virus and it inhibits people from understanding what the truth really is. A truth revealed by science.

"There really is a pink invisible unicorn in front of you. It's just your faulty mind that is incapable of perceiving the truth."

The argument is so laughable that it's not worth me defending against it.

they're running out of offense.... what you can say about it is that people interpret the bible.... and there is no god. it's only interpreted using man's "fallible mind"
