Are there any colleges that teach photography? Check with them as the professor may do this on the side or may suggest a promising student.
Are there any photography clubs in the area? They may have a memberwho does this or share some suggestions.
Also, ask the owners of any local photography shops.
Congratulations and good luck!

I can't help you out with any names of photographers, but a bit of advice. Just remember, you get what you pay for! That is not to say you need to spend a fortune, but if any photographer says they can do a professional wedding for less than 500$ I would RUN. Whoever you get, please just make sure you have a contract. The pictures and your memories are the only things you will have after the wedding. If you must go with a non-professional...make sure you have lots of friends taking pictures also, just in case. Congrats to you! I'm also getting married in July :-)

My husband has done several weddings...sad to say we are not in the area though. Start asking friends and family if they know of any photographers. Usually there is a local person that does several occasions for all kinds of events. I had a friend do my graduation pictures and another friend do our wedding. It was fine. The price was reasonable. Who has everyone else in the area used for other occasions? Weddings, anniversaries, graduations etc? Good luck. There are many skilled photographers out there willing to work for a reasonable rate.

Contact all the professional photographers in your area and check for the best quote. You do want a professional. These pictures can only happen one time. So cut your budgets somewhere else... You will be sorry if you do not,

You could find someone with a good digital camera, a friend or relative. They can take your wedding pictures, then order disposable cameras for the reception. You'll get shots of your wedding from every angle and It's a cheap way to get great candid photos!

I'd help, but I'm in California.
Try checking with your local photo university. Ask for two photo students with two cameras. The charge will be lower; they can put it on their resumes; with two, you'll be guaranteed good shots.

Check your local newspaper, classifieds. Often where I live the photographers will run specials in the classifieds.

my friends and family took my photos for my wedding and they were great. we went for professional ones later and I hated them. not worth the money. just get someone with a digital camera to do it for you. its much cheaper and they can do the things you want them to.
