OK well i know for a fact that any kind of poodle should not breed after the age of 5 years old.i use to breed poodles for about 7 years and i know that the A.K.C. says you shouldn't and all the vets i have ever seen said not to breed them after 5 years of age.i also breed other kinds of dogs and they all rang from 4 to 5 years of age to stop breeding.

She should still be able to breed, but I really wouldn't recommend it. There are many problems that come with breeding older females; like infections, death to both the mother and puppies, and genetic problems in the puppies. Older mothers (especially small breeds) tend to have very problematic pregnancy and often need c-sections to deliver their puppies (my vet charges $1100 for an emergency c-section) and you probably will only get 2-3 puppies at most.

For your exact question and without all those opinuns...

No. She can still reproduce.

With Opinuns,.. I would not suggest it if she hasn't had a litter before. If you do not plan to ever breed her, you may want to get her spayed for health reasons. But it sounds like you want her to have a Litter. So maybe you should have her Spayed as soon as the Vet says is alright (maybe you will need to take her in when she is in labor and there can be a C-section for dogs,.. then the puppies and her health would be the best off and she can be spayed at that time as well. It happens often with cats, dogs, and humans).

A 6 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous canines is basically too previous to be having a known muddle. to boot that, is she breeding high quality? Champion? Has she had all her wellness tests? basically the very ultimate canines, bodily would want for use for breeding.

I looked at the answers you had so far and some were right but it all depends on if you have bred her before and if you think she would be a good mom to the pups and have means to find them good homes- We breed dogs, excuse me, we have dogs that are our family and only breed them when we have buyers that know they will have a best friend for 0-15 years! That is the best! To see them over the years and know that they came from your "added family"!

Only a backyard breeder would start breeding at 6 years old. Good, reputable breeders start at 2 years and usually let them retire at 5-6 years old.
So, yes, she is too old to start breeding.

It would not be good to start breeding at that age. Are you trying to become a backyard breeder? How come you haven't spayed her yet? Does she exemplify the breed standard? Does she have all of her genetic test? Does she have her brucellois test? Does she have any titles?

Don't breed her. Get her spayed- you and she will both be much happier and healthier. Unspayed females have higher rates of cancer. And don't bring more unwanted pups into the world.
