I have two cockapoos. Male is almost two, female is 10 months. They are "trying" to mate, however, it doesn't seem too successful. Any suggestions, so they can get it over with!!

First you must dress them for success.

Send them both to Ivy League colleges. The male should go to Yale Law School & join the Skull & Bones Society. Send the female to Sarah Lawrence or Brown.

Oh.... you want them to mate. The female is to young. She shouldn't be bred until at least her second heat.

Why are you breeding them? Are they registered? I wasn't aware that cockapoos were an AKC breed, I thought they were just some cutesy name that someone started using for their mixed breed dogs.

Do you plan to register these dogs? Sell them?

Take a look at petfinder or your local shelter to see all the unwanted pets there before you bring even more into the world.

Get your dogs spayed/neutered.

Cockapoo? Cockapoo? Isn't that a word used by toddlers to describe #2?

Your female is way to young to breed,, should at least 2 years old before you breed her,, so after she turns 2 and goes into heat then you can breed her untill then keep them apart when she goes into heat,, if she isnt in heat right now its probably a domince thing that they are trying to see who is the pack leader,,, so please take my advise keep them seperated untill she is at least 2 years old and one more thing why do you want to breed 2 mixed breeds that is just wrong their is so many unwanted mixed breeds in shelters and getting put down cause they are over full so please take some advise and listen to the others and me to get your dogs fixed cause you are just producing more mixed breed dogs that will more then likely be in shelters,, and if you are trying to breed them to make money then you are trying to start a puppy mill or be a back yard breeder,, so not to be harsh on you but have them fixed tomorrow and the desire for them to want to breed will soon go away

I suggest that you get the female a sexy outfit. Nothing to slutty but something that says hey I want to get mated all over. For the male maybe he doesn't find her attractive. I suggest that you get him drunk but not so drunk he cant perform. Once they wake up next to each other make sure the male has an escape route. You don't want him to get cornered, he might kill her.

Your female is too young to have a litter of puppies. She is still growing ans is still a puppy herself and pregnancy could cause severe problems and possibly kill her and her puppies. Females should not have a litter until they are at least 2, as they are still growing and are not mature enough to take care of a litter. Why would you want to breed mixes anyway?

first of all the female is way too young. second, cockapoos are MUTTS. there are way too many of them and we dont need any more "designer dogs".
