High Heels Hurt Your Back - Properly fitted low heels are preferred.
(HealthDay News) -- High heels, a fashion statement for many women, can injure the feet, ankles, calves, knees, and back.
The higher the heel, the greater your risk of falling, spraining a muscle, and other types of injury, according to Yale-New Haven Hospital.
The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons says those aren't the only risks of high heels. They can also pinch your feet or toes, perhaps causing permanent injury.
The AAOS recommends wearing shoes with no or low heels. You should also be sure that shoes aren't too tight or too loose.
Here are a few things that I googled for you:

I started wearing stilettos 20 years ago. Today, my Achilles tendons and muscle fibers have shortened and I can no long walk flat footed, but instead can only walk in a 4.5 inch heel without pain. The procedure is reversible, but takes a really long time and hurts (really hurts).
This doesn't include the problems that come from not being able to flatten your feet. I have to shower on my toes or wear mules, wedges at the beach, running doesn't work, have to exercise at home, because stilettos at a gym is awkward, etc.
Share this with your friend and tell her to leave the stilettos for special occasions and the bedroom.

being a guy, you may ask, how would i know this but... i stand on my tip toes almost half a day at work replicating high heels id guess. makes killer calves, but hurts the muscles in the arch of the foot and puts pressure on the toe joints. i would have to say that it would eventually burden the lower back too. but they look great on

i would encourage her to save them for dressing up, and not daily wear. If it's the height she's looking for, she can try some cool chunky heels or something with a more substantial heel anyway...the goal is to put less strain on her feet and back, esp if she's flat footed. approach her carefully so she doesn't get offended if you do talk to her about it. express your concern.

the make your feet hurt, it throws your center of gravity off so that it puts a lot of pressure on you back
