A co worker informed me that when she had her two children, two of her teeth feel out (just crumbled) since the calcium was sucked out of her bones. She said she went to Mexico to get them filled. Is this is a good idea and how much would it cost if I did go? I don't have dental insurance and I don't want my tooth pulled! thanks

I live in San Diego which is like 20 minutes from Mexico and alot of my friends go to Mexico for dental work. I guess you can get the work done for like 1/3 of the cost. Many of the dentists have gone to school in the US and speak english etc. but work in Mexico. If I didn't have dental insurance I would definitely consider it.

i've been told dental in mexico wasn't very good. apparently the tools they use aren't always sterile. going to mexico alone would cost more than the difference in price. you'd use the equivelent of gas or airfare to get there. some dental offices make payment arrangements, then there are dental schools that will do it cheap or free. if you have a "teaching" hospital, they will base it on your income and you can make payments. my friend had all 4 wisdom teeth out for free.

it will be cheaper in Mexico but if your tooth needs to come out then it doesn't matter where you go it is going to need to come out. what you need to worry about is not the cost but the quality of the dental care because it could end up costing you more (because the health of your mouth and body) to save money before you go anywhere check out the dentist credentials it is possible you will find a better dentist for a better price in Mexico but if all your looking for is to save a few dollars then come to me I'm a fireman who knows nothing about dentistry but ill figure something out for 100 dollars

mexico is a bad idea. often dental treatment is much cheeper but thats because half of the doctors dont have licences or have mal practice suites in the US. i woulnt let anyone work on me under those conditions, be careful. amd regardless of who wants to put their lives in a an un licenced practitioners hands this is your life were talking about, resarech some better options here in the states!

There are a lot of good dentists in Mexico. Make sure you find one that some one has been going to for a long time and recommends.

I would try a dental school before I went to Mexico for dental work...but that's just me...

if you live in Mexico! if not, why not try your local dentist??? for less than the price of a flight to Mexico(and a much safer environment!) you can get an appointment and actually remember the experience! just my advice, but don't go to mexico for fillings.

I would recommend against it. A friend went to mexico; and four months later; the fillings came out, and she had to have them redone by people who knew how fillings shound be done.
