They are both miniature schnauzers, as I've said...they've tied twice..the first time for 15ish minutes..and the second time for like 10-13 minutes. I know it's a little early to predict if she's pregnant....but my famlily and I are very excited...LOL
Thanks in advance...

Yes more then likely she is pregnant,,, like the person said about breeding the male more then 1 time in a day is very true, i always breed every other day, the more you let them tie then the more chances of her being pregnant, as long as she is in stand for him then breed them every other day,, i know im probably going to get thumbs down too but hey thats ok too cause someone has to start some where on breeding and its best to ask questions and try and get as much information so you will know what you are doing, and know what to expect when the female is going to have puppies,,, so the more you let them tie then the more chances she will be to get pregnant,,, Here is some suggestion about what you will need before the puppies arrive and #1 is a whelping box so the momma will have a place to have the pups, #2 bulb syring so you can suck out the nose and mouth in case for some reason the momma dont do it, #3 bottles so you can feed the pups case the momma cant or wont feed them and you will want to feed them every 2 hours, #4 goats milk or puppy replacement to feed them, #5 lots of newspaper or towels so you can change them after the puppies are born, # a set of scales in onces and grams so that you can weigh them when they are born, #6 differant colors of collars, so you can put on the puppies so you can tell them apart,
I hope this has helped and good luck when the puppies come and take lots of pictures cause they grow so fast and 1 more thing I would recomend not to let the puppies go to their new homes untill they are at least 8 weeks old cause they are still learning from their momma and litter mates,, If you have any other questions please feel free to email me at hunterdog_34@yahoo.com

If neither dog is "proven", then you have a 50/50 chance. I suggest only letting the dogs mate once a day (I know...here comes the thumbs down...that is OK, I am used to them). If he mates more than once in a 24 hr period, he will just be shooting planks. Count 9 weeks from the first time they "tied"..give or take a day or two, and that is the due date of the puppies. As a midwife to many Mini Schnauzer litters, most moms don't have a problem. Keep your vet informed of her due date as soon as she shows signs of being pregnant. Your only concern is if she is in hard labor for over 2 hrs without producing a puppy(this means pushing!) Puppies can be born breech, so don't worry about that...both are the sane breed, so the puppies heads (breech) should not be big enough to get stuck. Also watch her discharge (during and a day after delivery)...it should be bloody, but not black or green...black or green-she needs to see a vet! Take the puppies to the vet at 3 days old to get tails and dewclaws done.

Also, coat colors! There are many coat colors for schnauzers...A Phantom is Black and White (NO brown on its body anywhere)...not a white dog! Salt and Pepper can look like a Phantom, but it will always have brown behind it's ears. This erks me when people advertize their dogs as a "rare" color, and it is not. I don't want to advertize on here, but search "phantom schnauzer" (I think that is how I found it) and there is a breeder on the internet that has a discription of coat colors that may be helpful to you!

Good Luck with your puppies! Schnauzers are cute!

are you sure it is such a good thing to be happy about?
first there will be the vet bills for the mother and as it isnt a planned litter you probably havent built up her energy reserves.
then there is feeding, the mother will need small ammounts of food constantly.
then if it is a complicated birth are you perpared to look after the puppies while the mother recovers (possibly longer). then there are the puppies when they start running around and get into everything who is going to keeep an eye on them? then after worming vaccinations and de fleaing is done will you want to part with them after all the hard work?
also the mother could have 10 or more pups and they will need feeding and walking from when they are weaned till rehoming.

Whoopy, break out the sparkling cider!
Yes there is a ratio of about 23/4 that your dog is going to have a litter! I hope your pups come out beautiful!
At the beginning of the gestation cycle, your dog will become a little, agitated, and will lick her parts alot. She might also lick her teets, which is normal, and the flappy skin under the nips will become enlarged, and she might even drip a syrupy milky solution.
Best wishes with the pups!
Take lots of pictures, they get big so fast!

Same as the guys are saying- if they have been stuck together twice and she was in heat then in 60 - 63 days from the first time they had "made the whopee" , you can look for a litter! Just make sure the female has a calcium pill (can get from the vet for less than 5.00) this will help her keep her milk enriched and her bones strong esp. after the pregnancy!

If you're very, very lucky... 0% chance. Do not breed your dogs unless your intention and the result will be an improvement in the pedigree. Your best option is having them spayed/neutered.

Chances are very high that she is pregnant. Expect pups in about 2 months.

you need to change your name to backyard breeder. I bet you never had them PRA tested before you allowed them to mate. But of vourse, that would eat into your profits wouldn't it? No responsible breeder has one male and one female. How will you stop the male mating the female every time she is in season?
