I got a Pumpmaster 760 BB gun for Christmas. I'm 14. Do you think I should be allowed to use it by myself. We have 12 acres of land that I could go out on.

I see no reason why you couldn't, as long as you respect the gun and use it safely. I'm jealous you have all that space to go shooting on. But as far as I'm aware, you can use a BB gun in your backyard even if you were in the suburbs so long rounds don't go flyng over the fence.

If you have your parent's trust, then yeah, go out and shoot and have fun, just be smart about it. You're 14, you know what you're doing, right?

When I was your age my friends had BB guns that we were allowed to carry unsupervised. Our BB guns were low power, I think that 760 would probably maim a squirrel. There are only three species of birds that are unprotected in the U.S.: pidgeons, sparrows, and starlings.
They are not from here so shoot the crap out of those.

With the proper knowledge a 14 year old should be able to hunt with a real gun on there own.

That depends on how experienced you are. And Remember that the hunting laws apply to you also so get a copy of them for you state and remember That if it is not listed with a hunting date it is protected (Song birds etc) Be safe and take a approved hunting safety course.

You should not be able to use the gun by yourself until you have demonstrated that you can use it responsibly. That would include not shooting birds that are out of season, and that you do not plan on eating. What game animals that you are allowed to shot would depend on what your parents say or allow.

Hi it all depends on how mature you are. I was hunting by myself with a 20 Gauge Shotgun when I was 10 yrs old. my dad started teaching me when I was 9. He taught me how to hunt, the rules of safety & respect. Good Luck & Enjoy yourself.

you're 14, if you plan on using a gun on animals, use one that will kill more than it will maim. Little punks that shoot animals with bb guns are one of the reasons antis are out there.
