Yes I am a Witch. It is a very life affirming path. I have been a Pagan Witch for 6 years and enjoy very much having a path that embraces life instead of glorifying death.

PS SignsofPoetry....try reading outside the box once in awhile. Being brainwashed is so unbecoming.

Yes, I am a witch.... read this you'll like it
Why do you call yourself a Witch?
This is an actual question, but, I found that a certain song by Lady Isadora seems to hit it on the head rather well for me:

“Why do you call yourself a Witch?
Why do you dress yourself in black?
Why don’t you use some other word
And get the devil off your back?”
I call myself a Witch because
A Witch is what I am
And like a Jew in Nazi Germany
I don’t define my name
To suit the Master Plan
The Propaganda Man
Never again! Never again!

“Why do you call yourself a Witch?
You know we just don’t understand
People will think you’re sinister
You know they’ll say your soul is damned!”
I call myself a Witch because
I don’t believe the lie
That the Creator is a macho man
Who wants to tell me what to do
Until I die
For pie in the sky
That’s such a lie! That’s such a lie!

I don’t believe in Satan
He’s a poor excuse for Pan
I’m a child of Holy Mother Earth
And I’m gonna stand up to
The Propaganda Man
In every way I can

“Why do you call yourself a Witch?
Such a pretentious fantasy!
Magic is just a childhood dream
Come on and face reality!”
I call myself a Witch because
I’m not afraid to tell
That the magic is in Life itself
Not just in some ancient book
Or secret spell
And I know damn well
That there’s no Hell
Except the Goddess of that name

No, the devil doesn’t turn me on,
He’s too much of a chauvinist pig
No self-respecting feminist
Would be caught dead around
A masculine ego that big

“Why do you call yourself a Witch
And talk of Witchcraft openly?
Wicca’s a nice disguise to use*
When you’re in mixed company”
I call myself a Witch because
There’s power in the word
There’s power in the truth about
What we really feel
And who we really are
Live by the Star
And you’ll go far
Yes, you’ll go far

“Why do you call yourself a Witch?”
Because a Witch is what I am!
“Why do you call yourself a Witch?”
Because a Witch is what I am!

I've been a practicing Wiccan (Witch) for 20+ years.

What I like about being a Wiccan (Witch) is that I'm not bound by typical religious doctrines. I'm free to worship the way I want to with no hierarchy to adhere to.

I've always felt an affinity to animals, nature, the earth, etc. and being a Wiccan (Witch) allows me to truly open myself up and experience all the magick that life (the universe) has to offer.

Have a lovely rest of the evening. Bright Blessings.

Yes I am a Witch by all definitions. I have studied both sides of the craft (good and evil). I have spent 26 years studying the different aspects of witchery, sorcery, necromancy and divinity. I still study.
I am by no means evil nor do I practice dark arts. I find that knowing about the dark arts helps me head off problems that novices seem to find. I am a Priest of the Damon Order and a Wizard of the Damon Tianice, the Order is over 4000 years old.
What I like about it is the freedom in which I live. The help I can give others by understanding the spirit of man. The healing I can give to others through the spirit and homeopathic body healing. I am a Botanist, Herbalist, Psychologist and Philosopher.
I love life in all of it's forms. I love all spirits and follow the Infinate Promises.
I live the creed of our order.
By action, thought or inaction, do no harm.
I also welcome you openly into the family of spirit and bless you on your journey to the knowing.
Deirdre H has asked some valid questions of you and I too, would love to hear your answers.
En Tis Blethec. May your journey to knowledge be blessed and may you find blessings in all of life's paths.

Proudly Pecti-Witan (aka Hedge Witch) for over 40 years. I like being master of my own destiny and not having someone else tell me how I should live and what I should believe. I like the rapport I have with all of nature, I like helping people with my knowledge of herbs and minerals. I like that it is an ever learning process. I like living by our rede, just wish everyone would. I like being Pecti-Witan because it is less structured than Wicca. Tho I understand the needs of others to have structure. I really love the different divination tools that I use, from my large crystal ball to my simple "witches sticks". The only thing I don't like actually has nothing to do with being a witch, but has to do with the attitudes of those who are close minded & ignorant. I just can't help but wonder, why, if I can accept them and will not criticize their beliefs, that they are compelled to criticize (and villify) mine.

I have practiced my own form of Witchcraft since I was a child but have only referred to myself as a Witch for about a year. The best thing, for me, about the Craft is being able to coincide with nature and having intimate relationships with things that most take for granted. I have better been able to understand and witness the beauty and majesty in God's design of the universe.

Brightest Blessings

Yes, about 30 years. I can't really say what I like about it because it's sort of a way of life. It's just the way I am, the way that I think and see things.

I see being a witch as someone who actively practices magic. I practice magic--most often folk magic and healing spells. More formal ceremonial magic works well, but isn't something I use in my daily life. I am a neo-pagan but have never been a Wiccan.

Do you follow a neo-pagan religion or do you just practice witchcraft? What do you like about it?

I've been a Witch for five years now. I love being connected to the Goddess and seeing Her wherever I go.

Yes, I am a witch, BTW trained for over 20 years.
As a practitioner of herb lore, 27 years.

Truth be told I have been a witch all my life, it just took talking to others like me for me to realize it.

I would rather be a witch than any other religion I have ever been around or at one time belonged too. this just feels right to me, I have been to a pentacostal and to baptist and lds and of all that, I will gladly and proudly claim to be a witch. and a white one at that!!!
