The definition of "atheist" usually states that we are those that DENY the existence of [other people's] god(s). Then naturally it's verbalized that way in society as well...
I just find the "deny" thing a bit offending, am I the only one that feels that way or are others irritated by it as well?
It just seems to automatically insinuate that "of course we're wrong"... would others not be mad if the believer definitions were made to insinuate that they were wrong?

Deny
1. to state that (something declared or believed to be true) is not true.
So it would seem to me then that most definitions of "atheist" are written biased against us. Rather then neutral and just saying we don't believe. Then "deny" word is not necessary.

Hey timjim, Happy Holidays!
(Wait, some are offended by that little greeting...oops... At least it isn't something that tries to define a group of people, huh?)

I disagree. even people that worship demons and false Gods are not atheist. An atheist is a person that does not believe in any Deity and when they die they simply no longer exist.
I am a believer , but have no problem with atheist or non believers. I couldn't imagine a world without such people on this side of heaven. Jesus once said,I pray for the world, not the whole world, but those that thou hath given me, I shall not lose one.
I do have a problem with those that worship the Moon Goddess because they wish to kill every one that doesn't believe in her.
Salvation is not for everyone.

Well, Atheists are people who deny the existence of our god. And, they believe in nothing(I guess).
I myself believe in God(ALLAH). And, I'm against no other religion. But, the people who are against Islam are quite bad. That's when I feel a little offended. But, I'm never against other religions especially Christianity, cuz your god- JESUS is also one of our prophets. So, I'm bound to respect him (as I'm a Muslim) and I do so.
But with people like atheist who believes in no-one are really very much offending and irritating. U are not the only one who feels that way.
U have a good point about the last para. They are the wrong one's. Don't care about them, U know when U R correct and when U R wrong. Atheists are not only offending and irritating, but are also an insult to us, our religion, our God and the entire world.

Okay, I will say it again. I am a Pentacostal married to an atheist. (Just for info.)
I am not offended when he calls me a 'holy rolling Bible banging pew jumper' anymore than he is offended by me telling him 'you'll go to hell for that.' We are comfortable enough with what we believe to not worry what others think or say...even our significant other that means the very world to each other.
Not trying to be ugly, but maybe you should do some soul searching about why you are so offended.

the actual definition of an atheist is one who denies the existence of God or a god.
if you're an atheist, that's what you're doing. you are saying there is no god. why would that offend you? aren't you choosing to believe there is no god?

i agree. the word "deny" implies that there's something factual being dismissed as untrue. deities are not factual realities and belief doesn't make invisible super beings real to anyone but the worshiper.

As a "non-believer", I comprehend that each and every thing is of based foundation. It would not would desire to be an all-powerful writer being, as i stumble on that this form of concept is illogical, yet each and every thing we predict of or do has based origins. each and every thing we are lacks intrinsic existence. we'd want to think of we are break away each and every thing around us, that as quickly as we do something we can say, "I did that.", yet you probably did not. there isn't any "I" as a results of undeniable fact that we ourselves are based upon different issues to exist, and so there isn't any merchandise, concept, and so on. that would not count on different "issues" to exist. you do not would desire to have "help". each and every thing you spot, do, think of, and so on. arises as a results of reasons and stipulations, even ones which you would be able to not on the instant detect. there isn't any finite initiating nor a finite end to something the two, as a results of fact of based origination. basically an occasion: You mowed the grass. You sit down lower back w/ your beer or lemonade and say, "I did that", yet extremely you probably did not w/o the human beings who gave delivery to the human beings who equipped the mower, the educational of the human beings to truthfully comprehend a thank you to make the mower, the human beings who offered you the mower, the mower functioning wisely in all its areas. Then there is the "I"... no there is not. "You" exist as a results of fact your mum and dad have been given you right here, so each and all of the reasons and stipulations for a delivery that delivered you the actual/psychological information to do the activity, and blah blah blah. i think of you're getting what i'm blithering approximately. we are a conglomeration of recommendations, and so on. that makes up what we define as "I", and in case you learn heavily and logically, you will high-quality no finite beginning off to your self and there isn't any finite end to you and in between each and every thing around you relies upon on something else that can assist you exist, or perhaps the human beings around you define you in yet differently than what YOU detect, on my own, as a "you". Sorry for rambling on, yet it somewhat is how I see the worldwide, inspite of the shown fact that I recognize others for thinking in yet differently. _()_
