Take a look at this, it is logarithmic growth and we have reached a critical mass off illegal immigration on TOP of the legal immigration discussed in this video. Slide the bar to where you see the logo for the Immigration Gumball presentation so you don't have to watch the boring introduction. The rest is still dry, but is important information.

You've answered some of this question in your own sentence, "during the 90's"...
As a matter of fact, illegal immigration from Mexico into the United States stretches back for much, much longer. However, after 9/11, the problem of illegal immigration was raised to a national security issue...and it has been virtually non-stop on the lips of politicians and news anchors.
I wouldn't say that Mexicans (or any other nationality) necessarily know more about making money...so much as they are more willing to take risks like illegal immigration to support themselves or their families.

First all the illegals are not mexican. THey happen to be from guatamala, el salvador, honduras, panama, etc etc. I can see the tijuana ./san diego fence from my house and trust me there are not any illegals hanging on the fence trying to get across.
The reason it is on the tip of everyones tounges these days is because there had to be some type of diversion from the fact that so many young soldiers are loosing thier lives in iraq. . People also forget that Mexico is stuck right up against us and that there billions of people living there and millions more completely legal ones living in the US with families in Mexico . I would think that it isnt such a good idea to make enemies out of your neighbors who over populate you. one last thing considering the amount of people that live in mexico now and before there are less people trying to cross the border. 10 years ago alien smuggling was practically done by every other person in Tijuana and today its hard to find anyone. The numbers that the US border patrol give out are not really the numbers that are being caught. And lets not forget the half open door the border patrol leaves open so that there will always be illegals coming in to the states so they will have people to catch and make it look good. WIthout any illegals from anywhere where would all the border patrol officers find work at? and what would the gov. use to take peoples minds off the war.

There has always been illegals coming to the US. We are hearing about it more now b/c of 9-11 and all the terrorist trying to come into the country. The illegals just prove how easy it is to enter the US. Another reason is for a while there was talk of giving the illegals already here citizenship. This cause more illegals to enter with the promise of citizenship.

The reason is that Mexico is so inept and corrupted with their financially situation that they don't know where their money is going to. Well, everybody knows that their money is going into their pockets but they are not going to admit it. well, one of this corrupted government officials decided that is better for the Mexican government to send their poor, uneducated, sick, etc. citizens to the USA so they could work and then send their money back to Mexico. This operation is costing our economy over 10 billions of dollars every year, this is with out counting the billions of dollars in aid that the USA sent them every year. But the problem with this is that every day their economy gets worse, because the more the government makes, the more they all put in their pockets. And I'm not even counting all the money they get from the illegal drugs carter than are working with the blessing of the government. So do you think that all of this inept and corrupted and inaction government have to be paid by the American citizens. It's a conspiracy of the Mexican government and the Corporations of America. Do you think that we as Americans should take all of these Mexicans citizens and let them do what they want in our country.. Do you think that fair,, I don't...

They know that there are people trying to get illegal immigrants granted amnesty, so if they can slip in with the rest, they might be included. And living in the streets here is better living in a rundown house there. They can get work easily since they don't require as much pay as we do and they get paid under the table which means even more money for them.

I think it's a direct result of katrina and other devastating storms in the south. Illegal Mexicans have been an issue since the beginning of our boundaries. It's just after the storms that the wave of immigration hit us all. tens of thousands of people were displaced and had to make lives elsewhere. The illegals now are not so confined to the border areas and have come to small town America. They steal identities to get jobs. I believe my neighbor to be illegals and they have 10 cars there on Friday night when everyone's home for the weekend. They live 10-18 in a one family dwelling. If all of them are working and sharing the bills, it's pretty cheap to live and they make lost of $$

Strangely enough, I read that they tightened border security and built a partial wall. After that immigrants quit going home(they used to come over temporarily) because crossing became difficult so they started staying, bringing families etc.
"On a recent visit to the binational Arizona border town of Nogales, I stood on the U.S. side of a 2.5-mile-long, 12-foot-high wall erected by the Clinton administration that divides the town in two. Constructed with steel landing mats salvaged from the gulf war, reinforced by 13 surveillance towers with 28 remote controlled cameras, and its surroundings peppered with countless seismic, metal, directional and infrared sensors, it stands as a monument to folly."
The writer says that immigration instead increased drastically.
I agree-they make more money but the cost of living here eats it up. I keep thinking they'll come up with a baby boomer exchange program.
