here in minnesota the illegal immigrants are demanding in state tuition rates for minnesota state colleges under something called the "dream act". how is this fair? if they broke the law why should they get a reward for it? we dont even give those rates to people from bordering states! and i thought they were just doing jobs "americans wont do". which is b.s. by the way. but now they want a college education?? who'll do the work the illegals wont do???! this all seems crazy. do u agree?

As a legal immigrant to the US I am offended by the illegals demand to go to the front of the line and get special rights....ILLEGALS HAVE BROKEN OUR LAW AND HAVE NOT RESPECT FOR THIS NATION! I wanted 7 years to get my PR status and then 5 more years to become a citizen, I learned English before coming here and am working my buns off to contribute to this great nation. Illegals make me sick...Budding in line thinking they deserve to be first..Bull! I thought I was a liberal until I learned what the AMerican liberal is...I am so opposite their logic and moral ground... Heck, they would sell this nation out in a second! Oregon is pretty liberal huh... Hope the non brain dead Oregon folks wake up and get rid of the traitors on the left! Nancy Pelosi, Reid, Durbin are all a bunch of crazies..Who elects this kind of nut jobs? My relatives back in Mexico laugh at how the US cannot keep out the illegals and love the liberals for their anti-American tone and ideas....WRONG! I will defend this coutnry from my foreign invading brothers...Get in line and follow the legal porocess... Not cuts!

I doubt if Wisconsin gives anything to the Illegals. I'm from WI and we are doing what we can to find them. In my specific area, we have been literally infiltrated with illegals. They have taken over our small communities and the white person is the minority now. And, no! illegals should NOT get any help whatsoever. From my experiences, then are using the US for money and laughing at us all along the way!! This I know first hand. Send 'em back!!!!

How can people who are not legally here demand anything?

"In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

The Dream Act is crafted towards the children of illegals--- people who have been born in the US but do not have proper documentation, because their parents are not documented. Like it or not, people born on US soil can claim US citizenship. The Dream Act is not aimed at helping people who just came over the border illegally. It's helping people who were BORN here.

Learn about the Act a little bit more before you start complaining about it.

This is cut-and-pasted from the National Immigration Law Center web site:

Under current law, these young people generally derive their immigration status solely
from their parents, and if their parents are undocumented or in immigration limbo, most have no
mechanism to obtain legal residency even if they have lived most of their lives here.

While the web site mentions the Dream Act would also apply to children who were brought to the US illegally at a young age, it repeatedly uses children who were born here to illegal parents as the primary group to benefit from this legislation if it passes.

"In state" tuitions should be restricted to legal residents of the state only. I should also add that tuition assistance, grants, etc should also be restricted to legal residents of the state also.

The only break an illegal immigrant should get in this country is a free ride to their country of citizenship.

No they should not. It is a magnet that brings them - wouldn't you move for better schools at cheaper prices for your kids? It is unfair to Americans who have often paid for their k-12 education already out of education funds intended to keep up the quality of schools for Americans. If they have extra funds, they should give more grants to American students who need it. This is putting the illegals before our own.

This is America, if we don't take care of our own people, it is for sure that no other people are going to do it.

The only educational assistance they should get is a civics course and an American history course, paid for by the oil companies. After graduation, SEND 'EM HOME!

That is not fair and I do agree with you. Illegals should not get in state tuition rates. That's crazy. They aren't even from the same country. Illegals are nuts. They don't stay long before another shipment of them comes in. Just long enough to earn some money and bring it home. I can't stand illegals!!!!!!

Totally agree with you. The whole thing just makes me sick. And I thought it was bad here in CA. Well, at least they haven't turned MN into a sewer like they have in Los Angeles, yet.
