I was told that if you tell your GF that she looks nice then she'll start to think "Wow, I look nice so why am I with this shmoe?" Is it true that you shouldn't tell a girl this or is this just stupid?

Tell her the truth. That way she will gain trust for you, and she will not think that she always looks good!

Everyone should react positively to a compliment. I personally would think if a boyfriend did not say something about my appearance that there was something wrong with it. (my appearance) and this could lead to more problems. Generally speaking from a woman's point of view, the first thing that pops into your mind when a man gives you a compliment on your appearance is not how you might be able to do better than this guy! If the girl looks good....tell her!

i think that whoever told you this is wrong. It is nice to give compliments and many women really appreciate them and would want to stay with you more because you're treating them right....if you never give any compliments she will wonder how you really feel about her and will make her less confident in the relationship. However keep the compliments simple, dont over do it to the point of annoyance. Sometimes when a guy is constantly raving about you it gets to be a bit much and almost obsessive so keep it simple and once in awhile.

I don't know who told you that. She's with you for a reason, so give her more reason to love you. I'm not sure how far into the relationship you are with her, but all depending. When you're being romantic and close to her, run your hand down her face and tell her how beautiful she looks. No, it's not corny, it turns me on, always has. Compliments are wonderous, just don't go overkill on them. If she thinks/says "I'm pretty, so I can do better", she's obviously no good for you anyway. Better knowing now that later!

That's crazy. I like it when a boyfriend tells me I'm pretty or cute or what have you. However, don't overdo it. Don't sit there telling her all the time how gorgeous or beautiful she is. Trust me, there are only a few truly gorgeous people in this world, and I highly doubt you're dating one of them. If you think she looks nice or pretty or cute, tell her. She should appreciate the compliments.

It's totally stupid! Sometimes you have to say it, it makes us feel good! But don't get carried away and go overboard with it. Once in a while tell her she looks nice or smells good, but don't tell her like 55 times in 10 minutes!

Whatever you do, be sincere with it. She'll know the difference. And no, that's not what goes through her head. Too many compliments will get annoying though bc ur always "putting her on the spot". Then she might see you as "too clingy".

Actually.. the opposite is true. You SHOULD tell your girl she looks good because chances are if she is with you, she finds you attractive too. If she starts thinking something like that and leaves you because you compliment her, then good riddance! Girls LOVE compliments and they hate fishing for them. So compliment a girl, and she will be happy.

If i ought to go returned, i do no longer think i'd be settling down with the same person. returned then i replaced into naive, thinking that i necessary to settle. I figured somebody replaced into extra constructive than no one. My mom tried to make me see this, yet I insisted that i replaced into making the suitable determination. Now I see that i replaced into worth extra, and my happiness replaced into as much as me. Now it particularly is too late.

I think it's something some insecure person made up. Girls like to know you think than are looking good but don't throw around fake comments. Tell your GF what you think.
